Rural cottage set in its own garden in a lovely secluded position with outlook over valley and stunning sunsets. Cottage has 2 double bedrooms, one with king size bed and en suite WC with WHB. Living room with wood burner for the cooler winter months, french doors out to patio with canopy for al fresco dining, fitted kitchen with all appliances including dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, juicer, large fridge freezer etc, the kitchen is very well equipped bathroom with corner bath and separate shower, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. For outdoor living there is plentiful furniture to enable outdoor eating, lounging, sunbathing and the large garden affords the opportunity to get away from it all to read and relax in glorious peace. there is a gas barbecue as well as an old fashioned charcoal one for the die hards. Above ground 15 foot across pool, lovely for a quick cooling dip and very safe for children as the steps can be removed to restrict access.

Set in the heart of the Dordogne between the major towns of Peigueux and Bergerac. Close to the famous wine areas of Bergerac and Bordeaux and the beautiful historic bastide towns of the Dordogne. Major watersports and swimming lake, La Jemaye less than a 20 minute drive or for a quieter water experience swim, canoe or boat along L'Isle river in the village, 3 kms distant. Village has many amenities including outdoor pool with flumes, restaurants, bars, markets on a Wednesday and a Saturday, supermarket, garage and a range of shops. 1 mile to major motorway taking you to the world heritage site of Bordeaux in under an hour and on to the beautiful beaches and sand dunes of the Atlantic coast. In the immediate vicinity of house there are many walks along the ancient route rural network of quiet off the beaten track roads. There are many fairs, in Autumn experience the truffle fairs in the surrounding villages, in Spring the major wine fair, Vin Expo held in Bordeaux and surrounding areas

Notes: Pool is an above ground pool, 15 feet across, 4 feet depth with removable steps to ensure children do not have access. Steps must by law must be removed when the pool is unattended. There are 2 internal steps on the ground floor leading from the living room to the ground floor bedrooms, WC, bathroom and utility area. 1 step up from living room to kitchen. Garden is open, therefore children should be supervised at all times. House has all tiled flooring and all bedding is low allergy.

A nice quiet location surrounded by fields of sunflowers. The house has good facilities including a good bathroom and kitchen and a dedicated laundry area. The pool is difficult to access and a bit too small. The house is a good drive to the major tourist sites of Sarlat, Caves, Dordogne and Bordeaux. The coast is 1.5 hours from the house by toll roads (expensive). We loved Sarlat, boating on the Dordogne, Brantome and the wine growing areas around Bordeaux and Bergerac.

Neuvic is a very ordinary french town close to Perigeaux. which is not the most attractive city in this area.

The owners are new (?) to renting and consequently lack experience in some of the basics. We arrived at 4.00 p.m after a long drive to find the property locked and no key. The property needed a good clean.

It took us more than 6 weeks to get our deposit back.

Thank you for a fantastic villa. The property was very clean and tidy when we arrived and as Julie rightly said a home from home, with everything we could possibly want or need. Julie's communication was great and she kept in contact before our holiday and gave us phone numbers to contact her before or during our holiday (not that we needed to.) Also there was a folder left at the property with details about local shops, restaurants,markets and places of interest which we found very useful. The villa is in a lovely quiet position overlooking the beautiful countryside. We loved the pool and had many happy hours sat on the patio enjoying the local vino and food, looking across the valley, listening to the crickets humming their tune and watching the sun setting or the shooting stars when it got dark. The boys loved looking for fossils in the limestone and had great fun in the huge garden, once again as Julie rightly said a very safe environment for children. We loved the area and travelled about to :- Monbazillac, The Grand Roc, Brantome, Bourdeilles, Bergerac, Lalinde and along the Dordogne river to name but a few. My husband took our boys to the water park in the local village a few times and they really loved that. We also went further afield to Oradour- Sur-Glane, Haute-Vienne, Limousin (just over 2 hour drive). Our eldest son loves history and is especially interested about the 2nd World War so he found it very interesting but also very moving as we all did. On a lighter note we were recommended a lovely restaurant , Lou Marmitou at Mussidan, where we had a delicious, great value, traditional Perigoudine meal (set menu, 5 course meal @12 Euros a head- excellent). We would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful villa to family and friends. Thank you very much to Julie and Family.

great holiday

We had a great holiday. The property is well situated for access to a huge number of beautiful and interesting places. Private location but close enough to amenities to make it an ideal peaceful location. Spectacular views and a comfortable environment. I loved that there was everything in the kitchen, every piece of equipment that you could ever wish for. The house itself was comfortable and homely, not clinical with lots of personal touches.
The kids loved the garden and explored to their hearts content. There was loads of information available about the locality and places of interest which we utilised well. Although a car is essential it's the type of place with good weather you wouldn't want to go far.
We will definitely go again. I especially loved the local worthies at the market in Neuvic and would recommend all of the local produce especially the walnut aperitif!

We had a lovely holiday. It was very peaceful and secluded and we didn't have to worry about our noisy kids and the views over the valley from the patio were lovely. The house was comfortable and very well equiped but also homely and child friendly. Great for dogs too. The near by town of neuvic was very pretty with a large supermarket and ideal for a meal out in the evening, There is also a great maket twice a week. The locals were very helpful and friendly.
You do need to rent a car but you would want one anyway to enjoy all the region has to offer as well as a trip to the beach. We are looking forward to going again and I would not hesitate to recomend it.
