Thanasis is one of a group of three very modern villas located on a South-facing headland, opposite the pretty harbour of Lakka. This villa is of particularly unusual design and layout, and has extensive balconies with stunning sea views. An attractive pool is set just in front of the house, for use just by Villa Thanasis guests. For those who enjoy sea-bathing there are paths winding down the hillside to some wonderful beaches on either side of the headland. Thanasis was designed to resemble the lighthouse which is on the headland above. The spacious lounge/ dining area and kitchen feature large arched windows creating a light and airy atmosphere. Included in the lounge is a sofa-bed that sleep two in comfort. The master bedroom and two bathrooms are located on the lower ground floor.

Nearest Beach: beach at 150 Metres
The beach below the villa, with an excellent taverna, is accessed via a small coastal path. (The path down is approximately 180 metres and takes less than 5 mins to walk.) The beach is fine sand and white shingle, but once you are in the sea there is soft sand underfoot. Lakka lies in the north of Paxos at the head of a long natural inlet of the most startling shade of turquoise - reminiscent of a Caribbean bay. It is a perfect harbour and is filled with a fascinating array of yachts in summer. The village itself is small and focused almost entirely on its harbour-front, with a selection of useful shops and several good restaurants and bars, including a very good Italian restaurant. The shores of the bay are fringed with beautiful natural beaches, shaded by trees, and it is possible to walk to other, more unfrequented, beaches on the other side of the headlands.

Notes: There is a very large living space with kitchen, sitting and dining areas incorporated, and a comfortable sofa-bed sleeping two. A wall of windows opens on to a circular balcony with fantastic views, which in turn opens on to the lovely private swimming pool. Each lounge sofa opens into a double bed so that 2 people can comfortably sleep. (Note: at the time of taking these photos, the curtains were being dry-cleaned.)

Paxos: Essential Holiday Information: How to get to Paxos: With no airport on Paxos, most visitors fly to the nearby island of Corfu and then transfer by hydrofoil, sea taxi or seaplane. It is an exciting start to your holiday! Charter flights to Corfu operate from most major European airports from May to October. There are also scheduled flights operating from Athens during the winter months. Car Hire or Taxi Transfer: We can arrange a hire car to meet you at the port of Gaios or a taxi transfer. Walking on Paxos: Paxos could easily be described as a giant olive grove! Shaded walks under the trees and coastal tracks, are a delight. The Agni Travel walking map will help you make the most of your holiday.

Boat Hire: Renting a motor boat will give a whole new perspective to your view of Paxos. You won't believe how many quiet bays and coves you will find as you motor along the coast. A trip to Anti-Paxos is a must and only takes 20mins from Gaios. Taxis: there are 6 taxis on Paxos. They offer a convienient service and are not expensive as the journeys are so short. During the evenings, a waiting taxi is easy to find outside of the tavernas at Gaios, Lakka and Loggos. Buses: there are two buses offering a regular service around Paxos and the main villages. Anti-Paxos: A visit to the small nearby island of Anti-Paxos is a must during your holiday on Paxos. Only 15 minutes away by sea taxi or your own motor boat, it has some of the most gorgeous beaches in Greece - quite Caribbean in their combination of fine golden sand and transparent blue water. The sea taxis depart regularly from: Gaios, Lakka and Loggos.

This was the best holiday I've ever had. Lakka is a gorgeous place, with lovely scenery, people and food. Me and my girlfriend went here for our first holiday because we didn't want to go out clubbing etc so this was ideal.

The villa was amazing and had a great view of the island probably the best on the island in my view. I even proposed to my girlfriend on the balcony of the villa we stayed at on the night time when its nice and quiet and the lights are on in the town reflecting off the water and we had candles on it was great.

We met a great family who own a little pub there and the girl who works there and who was kind of a travel rep for us was really nice and helped us with anything we needed and her and her family made us feel really welcome.

Me & my girlfriend will definitely return here in the future and would recommend this place to any couples looking for some nice quality, romantic time together.
