We feel confident in saying that the three villas of which Villa Parga is one could not be better located. One kilometer north of Gaios, this breathtaking private property borders one of the prettiest beaches on Paxos. Under the same ownership, the villas have all been built, furnished and equipped to the highest specifications. Each house has its own private swimming pool, from which a short flight of steps gives access to the idyllic beach fringed by trees and lapped by the vividly coloured waters of the Ionian Sea. The modern Villa Parga sleeps up to ten, with the accommodation arranged over two floors. The views are quite superb, extending as far as the exquisite and very interesting little town and port of Parga on the Greek mainland opposite.

Even though villa Parga has its own pool, the beach is less than 20 metres from the villa - a lockable gate from the pool area ensures undisturbed privacy - and just a few steps lead down on to the beach itself. While not actually private, very few other people ever invade what you will come to think of as your own holiday paradise. The pretty town and port of Gaios, capital of Paxos and fascinating in summer, is just one kilometre from the villa along a coastal road. A walk of just 15-20 minutes for those wishing to enjoy the tavernas, bars, shops and people-watching activities that are an essential part of an island holiday. Several other beaches are just a short walk from the villa. Paxos offers quiet beaches and clear waters with delightful turquoise hues.

  • The villa has 5 air conditioned bedrooms: Three bedrooms on the lower floor (1 double and 2 twins) and two bedrooms upstairs (1 double and 1 twin), all with air-conditioning and en suite shower rooms. Patio doors open on to the terraces, and it is worth noting that the windows have traditional solid wooden shutters and substantial curtains so that the problem of being unable to sleep because of too much light is avoided - another example of the thought that has gone into building and furnishing this house.

Notes: Downstairs, the attractive, spacious sitting room has patio doors opening on to the pool terrace. There is a fireplace and air-conditioning. The lounge leads conveniently into the dining area and kitchen, while the terrace outside is furnished for outdoor meals and relaxation. TV is provided. At the top of the stairs there is a second sitting room, which has patio doors opening on to the broad upper terrace, also furnished for outdoor living. A fireplace and TV complete the ambiance. As on the lower floor, the dining area and kitchen are conveniently located just off the lounge. There is a kitchen on each floor, making breakfast arrangements very flexible. Modern and exceptionally well-equipped, with the standard of electrical equipment, china, glassware and utensils particularly high, preparing a snack or a full meal here is no chore. Large fridge/freezers and full, modern cookers make catering for ten feasible and enjoyable. The private swimming pool is most attractive.

Paxos: Essential Holiday Information: How to get to Paxos: With no airport on Paxos, most visitors fly to the nearby island of Corfu and then transfer by hydrofoil, sea taxi or seaplane. It is an exciting start to your holiday! Charter flights to Corfu operate from most major European airports from May to October. There are also scheduled flights operating from Athens during the winter months. Car Hire or Taxi Transfer: We can arrange a hire car to meet you at the port of Gaios or a taxi transfer. Walking on Paxos: Paxos could easily be described as a giant olive grove! Shaded walks under the trees and coastal tracks, are a delight.

Boat Hire: Renting a motor boat will give a whole new perspective to your view of Paxos. You won't believe how many quiet bays and coves you will find as you motor along the coast. A trip to Anti-Paxos is a must and only takes 20mins from Gaios. Taxis: there are 6 taxis on Paxos. They offer a convienient service and are not expensive as the journeys are so short. During the evenings, a waiting taxi is easy to find outside of the tavernas at Gaios, Lakka and Loggos. Buses: there are two buses offering a regular service around Paxos and the main villages. Anti-Paxos: A visit to the small nearby island of Anti-Paxos is a must during your holiday on Paxos. Only 15 minutes away by sea taxi or your own motor boat, it has some of the most gorgeous beaches in Greece - quite Caribbean in their combination of fine golden sand and transparent blue water. The sea taxis depart regularly from: Gaios, Lakka and Loggos.
