Lagos Town holiday apartment: Lagos

We booked last minute and the owner was very prompt in providing all the information we required to get there as well as answering all our questions.

On arrival, we found a spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated apartment which was equipped with everything you could need now to a hairdryer. The highlights were the fabulous dream kitchen (which was a home from home), the spacious terrace (which was sunny nearly all day) and the pool which we had all to ourselves nearly everyday. The block was extremely quiet which is exactly what we were looking for.

I do think that an extra sofa in the lounge would have made for more comfortable evenings for a party of four and no air-con in the 2nd bedroom what a bit uncomfortable on the warmer nights (although the owner told us she plans to install it this year sometime). There are only a few English channels (not really mainstream) although the DVD player came in useful for the children. Our only major disappointment was the building works that started the day after our arrival and which limited our enjoyment of the terrace to whenever they weren't working.

As for location, we had a car which we used all of the time to go to town where we rarely had problems parking (only a 5-inute drive). The supermarket was also 5 minutes drive away. Lagos and the surroudning area is a great place if you're looking for something not typically Algarve. Quiet beaches and much more authentic. If you want to try out the local food, the restaurant at Doña Ana beach is a must!

I would definitely consider booking this apartment again as despite the above, it was obvious that the owner had given a great deal of thought into making it homely. Having said that, I would check to see if the building work has finished before booking again.
