How to get here:
The Chateau is extremely accessible with Bergerac airport and the Dordogne river only 50 minutes drive away. There are daily low cost flights with Ryanair flying from Stansted, Nottingham and Liverpool and Flybe flying from Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham and Exeter. Bordeaux airport is only about 1hr 30 minutes drive away, with Toulouse a similar distance. There is car hire available at all the airports. We find that the most relaxing drive from the UK is from St Malo in about 7 hours, leaving Portsmouth with Brittany Ferries and throughout the summer they offer night crossings both ways. Although it is not the cheapest ferry, it is a great way to start the holiday. A slightly longer drive is from Calais in about 10 hours. There are fast links by train by Eurostar (Waterloo/Ashford) with connections to Bergerac, Marmande and Libourne. Marmande is the quickest and is only 30 minutes away. You can also motorail to Brive which is approximately 2 hours drive away.
