Nearby, but totally private and separate is Casita Maria: sleeps 2, own private plunge pool, BBQ, Pergola & deck. Breathtaking views. Relax and feel the quiet tranquillity of the mountains seep into your soul. Sit in the warm Spanish sunshine and just chill! A wonderful, idyllic mountain holiday retreat, perched 400m over the Guadalhorce Valley. The dramatic Sierra de las Nieves to the West; the Mediterranean Sea gleaming in the South. Cencerrita is about relaxing but if you do need to move on the odd occasion, just 25 mins are the towns of Estacion de Cartama and Álora, and less than an hour to Malaga airport and the Costa del Sol. A paradise for walking, birdwatching, photography, naturists, yoga and anyone else who wants to be far from the madding crowds.

Although less than an hour to Malaga City, the Airport, beaches and all the other attractions of the Costal del Sol, Finca Cencerrita is first and foremost a place for getting away from it all. Situated equidistant from the white village of Alora , Estacion de Cartama and Pizarra – a 30 min car ride – you will find all the restaurants, banks and shopping you will need. Nearby is the wonderful El Chorro with its beautiful lakes and mountains – who needs the crowded beaches of the coast when you can swim in the turquoise lakes?! Just over two hours will get you to the world renowned Alhambra Palace at Granada, and a little further to the famous city of Seville. The magical city of Ronda is just over an hour. Plenty more information on our websites. However you don’t need to get in your car to enjoy the area: just go walking and enjoy seeing the real Andalucian countryside on your holiday home doorstep.

Additional information about rental rates

  • We keep our prices as low as possible all the year round. They are not artificially inflated in order to be able to give the 'discounts' that some places offer. We give true value for money. All gas and electricity are included .

    Evening Meal on arrival is available with prior notification (12 euros per head).

    Preferred start day is Saturday - out of season other start days may be available

    Minimum stay, one week from April through to September. October to March, 3 nights

    Departures before 10am and Arrivals after 4pm (If there is no changeover we are happy to be flexible - but we do need prior notification)
  • Booking notes: When booking, a non-refundable deposit of 25% is required, with the balance due 6 weeks before the start of your holiday. Payment can be made via PayPal (no account is needed and you can use your credit card if you wish), or direct into our bank. Full details are in the terms and conditions on our website.

    Damage Deposit: A refundable deposit of €100 is payable on arrival. This will be returned in full, assuming all is as you found it in the cabin. Our UK guests may prefer to deposit £100 to save using euros.

    A cleaning fee of €25 will be charged if you prefer not to clean the cabin on your departure (particularly useful if you have an early flight!).

    Smoking: Providing due care is taken, particularly when the countryside is tinder dry at certain times, smoking outside is not a problem. However, smoking inside the cabin is not permitted.

Notes: Just in case the weather isn't kind too you (it happens, even in the South of Spain!), a nice comfy two-seater sofa, along with a flat screen TV and DVD player plus some up to date DVDs. A few games and books are provided too. Storage space in the loft for your suitcases keep them out of sight. 3 Kw Heater for the cooler months and for the warmer months: a large ceiling fan, standing fan ... and a table top one too The door and all windows and have removable insect screening. (Generally too dry up here for mosquitoes). In the warm months, just take off the windows and feel like you are sleeping outside ... but keeping all indoor comforts! No smoking indoors, only outside.

Meeting You: We meet you in Estacion de Cartama to guide you to Finca Cencerrita - we don’t want you to get lost on the first day of your holiday! This is a great relief to most ... especially when arriving in the dark!

Don't Want to Hire a Car?: One of the main reasons for the tranquillity of Finca Cencerrita is due to it being well off the beaten track (20 to 30 minutes by car from each of the villages). Not everyone wants the hassle of driving ,so we can: pick you up from the airport, stop off at a supermarket for provisioning on the way and then return you nice a relaxed after your holiday. We also run excursions - further details can be found on our website.

First Night Dinner: Cooking is often the last thing you want to do after a long day travelling so we can cook dinner (12 € each) for you on the first night if you would like - we do need a week's notice please. A menu will be sent before your holiday.

Wonderful, relaxing holiday in a superb location

We had a wonderful week in the cabin during May - the weather was beautiful and the location itself is breathtaking.

The cabin was perfect for a week of R&R, chilling out in the splash pool with a cocktail and enjoying the long sunny days.

Thanks again for making us feel so welcome, and special thanks to Arwen for showing us some 'off the beaten track' walks!

Log Cabin for lovers

We stayed in the log cabin which was everything we wanted for a secluded get away romatic break. It is small, rustic and basic so don't expect hotel cleanliness and standards altho it had everything we needed. The scenery is wonderful and ideal for walkers and those who just want to chill out as there is nothing else to do, bliss! Evening entertainment is star gazing, lizard catching and dvd watching.

The owners are extremely helpful with transfers, shopping, walking routes, maintenance etc if thats what you want.

The flies and insects are a bit of a nuisance so take plenty of repellent.

I would recommend this to any couple who want complete privacy and escapism. We have booked up again this year.
Owner's Response: We'd just like to point out that Jackie wasn't refering to the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom! You are staying on the doorstep of nature and, needless to say, the casita does not have the sterile atmosphere of a hotel room ... Booking again this year shows this!
A screened pergola has been built next to the casita which can be open or closed depending on your preference. Luckily it is so dry up here in the summer months, mossies and their ilk are not generally a problem.

Just great!

We stayed two times in the cabin and it was paradise! It's not an easy way to come to paradise but that's really worth. The cabin is small but it's clean and it has all the comfort you wish. The view is magnificent. Alan and Colleen are very nice owners and leave you alone when you want qiutness but can help you when you want something.You can make wonderfull walking trips from the cabin (there are descriptions in the cabin) and the neighbourhood is beatifull fot experience the nature and lovely villages. We really will come back (and we never did that before with another holidayhouse...) Hans and Julia from Amsterdam (Netherlands)

What a wonderful place to stay! From the Cabin a beautiful view. Relax and enjoy! It's a lovely place to mountainbike. Good restaurants in the village, not far by car to the sea. And most of all very nice owners, great service, it was fantastic!
