Glengarriff Lodge is a true fairy tale cottage. Located on its own private island in the Glengarriff River, it is connected by three bridges to the surrounding mature gardens and wooded estate of some forty acres. Originally built as a hunting lodge and retreat for the Earls of Bantry over 200 years ago, it has recently been restored and now provides all the conveniences that one would expect from a modern and luxurious home from home, while still retaining all of its historic charm. Glengarriff Lodge Estate is completely surrounded by over one thousand acres of National Nature Reserve which is maintained by the state as one of Irelands' last remaining ancient forests and has many spectacular woodland trails. Further afield, Glengarriff Village is only 2 miles walk or five minutes by car. This thriving and picturesque coastal village nestled between the mountains and the sea has long been a famed holiday destination and has a fine selection of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants.
