A Great Holiday

This was our 7th visit to the eastern Algarve, but our first to Fuzeta. We were grateful for the accurate description of the property and delighted to find it as described and spotlessly clean; spacious, comfortable and well-equipped , pleasant inside and on the balcony and the roof terrace. (The only criticisms we would tentatively make would be that though the lift would be a boon for anyone with mobility problems, the shower cubicle in the shower room was not of easy access and the spiral staircase to the roof terrace was designed for the young and the sprightly! ) Both the town beach and the ferry for the island beach were easily accessible - an easy, largely level, 10 minute stroll. We found Fuzeta very pleasant and uncommercialised. There is a choice of restaurants from the snack bar to the expensive and generally we ate very well and within our budget. We would not recommend the Scandinavian Restaurant where the service was perfunctory and the food disappointing. We did not self-cater for main meals , though this would have been very possible given the market, local shops and the the facilities in the apartment. However, there is no sizeable supermarket in Fuzeta and the small stores within walking distance of the apartment had adequate but limited range of goods. (We obviously stayed on the week when orange juice was not available in Fuzeta!!). We do not hire or bring a car so the close proximity of Fuzeta-A railway station was a huge plus with hourly (and cheap) trains to Faro, Olhao and Tavira and a two-hourly service to Vila Real.(It would also be possible for a very full day out to travel to the western Algarve or even Lisbon). In previous places we have stayed it was a long, walk or a bus or taxi journey to a station. We did not find anywhere in the village which marketed coach trips - but we didn't look very hard!
We would certainly recommend both Fuzeta and the apartment to any one wanting to enjoy a comfortable base, super beaches, good food, uncommercialised Portugal and easy further exploration with or without a car.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to sumit this vey kind review and I am sure that other guests considering a holiday in my apartment will find this information very useful. One point, however, I am neither young or sprightly but I do not have any difficulty in accessing the roof terrace from the spiral staircase off the kitchen except maybe when I am carrying too many things!!
