My Most Favourite Holiday Yet !

My cases are on the starting block already and we do not leave until early summer time. This will be our third year in this villa and it just keeps getting better and better. The villa is truly magnificient, the description regarding both the villa itself and location are, probably, understated. The villa is immaculate in both maintenance and furnishings. I think the only thing I struggled to find was a potato masher for my Sunday roast !!!! More than adequately kitted out.
The owners are a cheery and professional family who have always offered the utmost attention to detail. There is a point of contact for anything that you may require. With a superb english 'domestic engineer' cleaning the property each week, any difficulties you may experience are easily overcome.
Family friends have flown out to join us over the last two years and have loved it so much they are set to visit again this year and have also extended their own holiday by another two weeks. The layout of the villa lends itself to a superb holiday for younger children, whereby the pool and garden areas are viewed from most sides of the villa. Not so much getting up and down for mummy and daddy because they are in view all of the time.
The location is fantastic with most of your needs being found in the village of Foz do Arelho even though most speak only Portuguese, you manage to get exactly what you want from the butcher, baker and candle-stick maker !! Sometimes a little bit extra thrown in for good measure. Although, larger supermarkets can be found - just a 15 minute drive-time.
The beaches are within easy driving distance (would not recommend the walk with younger children) and are extremely clean and vast with a superb lagoon for younger children. There are many activities that can be found down on the beach, for all ages, during the day and night and with all the superb restaurants and cafes to choose from, you will not want to leave this beautiful spot. Superb shopping can be found in Caldas da Rhaina with amazing designer boutiques (at amazing prices when the sales are on !!!!).
Try it for yourself, we can't wait to return again this year for the summer - my little girl gets all the swimming lessons she needs.
P.S. The taxi service is excellent - some only speak Portuguese or french, but we managed some how.
