Gassin holiday villa: Saint Tropez

We all had a fabulous time at Villa Tropez. The villa was perfect for our group of ten - very spacious with so many different break out areas. We particularly loved our evening barbecues on the sun trap of the main terrace with beautiful sunset views over the vineyards and the village of Cogolin.
I've stayed many times in the St Tropez region, but normally further down the coast towards Ramatuelle and Croix Valmer - I much preferred this location being much closer to St Tropez and to the main supermarkets in the area - much more convenient and much less time stuck in the car!
Christelle and Sharon were great looking after us- nothing was too much trouble - many thanks to them.

"We had a brilliant time at the villa (again) it was so nice it was just the 3 of us this time, as we could really just relax and take it easy. Incredibly important as we have had a very busy year. My only real complaint was that 1 week was definintely not long enough!

I love the new double day bed by the pool where the hammock used to be, and we used that a lot. Also liked the new position of the hammock - what gorgeous views you get from up there. It was incredibly hot during our stay, 35.C every day, so to have that shaded day bed was ideal.

As you know the sky wasnt picking up any of the terrestial tv channels, but it wasnt that much of an issue as we had bought Alexandra's favourite DVD's with us so we had them playing on a loop when it was too hot to play outside. I also bought her a few toys which I left at the villa which the twins/other young guests can use, including a pair of small plastic toddler sized chairs.

Everything at the villa worked brilliantly and it was lovely returning to a place we had previously stayed. When we visited the beach we always went to Tahiti as it is so child friendly, though I was astounded at how expensive everything was. The euro is not a friend to the £ right now!

There is a chance that we may take the villa again next year, is availability for June still pretty good?"

In my opinion, as the parent to a 2yr old, who have very demanding expectations of the quality property we stay in on holiday, you would be hard pushed to find as well equipped a villa for the price.

Being west of St Tropez means that if you want to access the beach and go into St Trop in high season, you can cut through Gassin and Ramatuelle to reach the beaches and the town. You drive through the mountains and it's a longer drive, but at least you aren't sitting in traffic for 1hr 30mins!

The situation of the house is rural and quiet, with lots of terraces and outdoor areas which are perfect for unwinding. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a tv/dvd player.

A very useful welcome pack gives you all the local information and advice you could possibly require. The owners also have an english cleaner/nanny/cook who comes in twice a week on a tues and thurs, who lives in the area and is brilliant for advice on where to go and what to do. The english caretaker is also very accomodating and you genuinley feel that he would drop everything to come and help if you had an issue at the Villa.
