I needed a flat that was centrally located in Old Aix, and rue Venel was the answer. The street is small and relatively quiet; yet just at the end is Place des Cardeurs, filled with restaurants and cafes. Little grocery store, Internet cafe, daily farmers' market --- all close by. The flat is simply furnished, with everything I needed, including an espresso machine, hair dryer, washer, microwave. I found the mattress firm and comfortable, good for my back. Also, the building is very quiet. Ideal for a single person or couple. What I liked especially, was that renting a flat, rather than using hotels, made me feel more like a local, like I had "a home away from home."
