About the area:
The villa is located within a 10minute drive of the pretty harbour town of L'Ampolla. L' Ampolla sits on the edge of the Ebro delta and still retains its traditional Spanish fishing village charm, the walkways along the seafront make a lovely location for an evening stroll taking in the sea and harbour views. L'Ampolla has an abundance of restaurants, offerring both local and international cuisine and a reasonable selection of shops, including 3 supermarkets.
There are two sandy beaches within L'Ampolla itself and many more beautiful sany beaches and coves along the immediate coastline.
There is a railway station with a frequent and inexpensive service north to Salou, Port Adventura, Tarragona and Barcelona. There is also a daily train which travels south to Valencia.
For a relaxing day out, the Ebro Delta nature reserve is within a 15minute drive and is truly stunning, it is world renowned for the rare species of wildlife and birds. The beaches are incredible.
How to get here:
The villa is easily accessible with the closest airport being Reus only 40mins away! And Barcelona only approx. 90mins away, Girona approx. 2hours away, and Valencia approx. 2hrs 30mins away.
Reus international airport is served by Ryan Air all year round (advertised as Barcelona Reus and sometimes Reus Salou), offering flights from Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, Luton, Stansted, Birmingham and Bristol. Additionally there is a selection of other airlines operating in the summer, including, First Choice, Thomsons, My Travel etc.
Barcelona Airport is served by a variety of low cost airlines flying daily from the UK and Ireland (including, Easyjet, My Travel Lite, Thomson Fly etc.)
Girona Airport is served by a variety of low cost airlines including Ryanair and Easyjet offering flights from all of the UK and Ireland.
Valencia airport is served by both low cost and scheduled airlines, including Ryanair from East Midlands.
Cheap car hire is available from all airports.
Golf:
There is a pitch and putt course 4kms away, and the Bon Mont golf course is within a 25minute drive of the villa. This is a championship 18 hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr. with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and coastline. There are 4 other courses within 35minutes of this area, including the courses of Portaventura.
