The house is set on the edge of Christchurch Harbour with spectacular south/south westerly views from the Isle of Wight to the Purbeck Hills.
Just across the harbour is the peninsula of Hengistbury Head, site of an Iron Age settlement and, along with the harbour and Stanpit Marsh, a site of special scientific interest. (www.hengistbury-head.co.uk)
There are good connections to nearby beaches either by foot or by ferry, and fine walks to Hengistbury, Highcliffe Castle and Bournemouth beaches. The New Forest with its many attractions can be reached in 5-10 minutes by car.
The area is well known for its history and Norman ruins, including the 11th C. Priory.
There is a wide choice of watersports nearby, as well as local golf courses and sport centres.
