Meadow Cottage is situated 2 Miles west of Penrith in the small quiet country village of Newton Reigny on the edge of the Lake District. It is approximately 10 minutes from Ullswater and 30 minutes from Keswick It is well situated for exploring the Lakes, Eden Valley and Scottish Borders. The cottage is very well equipped with good quality furnishings and offers a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. There is parking for 1 car within the boundaries of the property and additional parking close by. There is a private garden with patio offering open views to Blencathra and beyond.

Meadow Cottage is located on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park. There are many activities on offer in the area including Walking, Fishing and Horse Riding. The village itself has a Traditional Pub serving meals. The nearest town of Penrith is only 2 miles away has a good selection of Shops, Supermarkets, Pubs, Restaurants and a Tourist Information Centre. Reghed Discovery Centre, Alpaca Centre , Dalemain Historical House and Gardens and Lowther Castle are all less than 10 Minutes drive. The popular Lakeland towns of Keswick and Windermere are also easily accessible from the cottage. There are also many interesting villages and attractions in the nearby Eden Valley and Historic Roman Wall country.

Lovely cottage!

The cottage is lovely. Beautifull decorated, and everything is really clean. And it feels luxerious, with the digital t.v. canals, the dishwasher and al the nice furniture. The beds are also comfortable.
The location is good to explore the north area of the Lake District (beautifull!) and to see the west part of Northumbria.
We really can recommend this cottage, we had a great week!

Het huis is super! Mooi ingericht en alles is echt schoon. En het voelt luxe met digitale tv, een vaatwasser en al het mooie meubilair. De bedden zijn ook comfortabel! de locatie is goed om het noorden van het Lake District te bekijken (schitterend gebied!) en om het westen van Northumbria te zien.
We kunnen dit huis zeker aanraden, wij hadden een superweek!

A superb home away from home!

We booked this property at the last minute - the advert looked inviting and was in the right area for exploring the Lake District. Judith and Paddy responded quickly and the booking was arranged swiftly and without hassle.
We arrived a little early but this did not cause any difficulty. The house was warm and inviting and we soon settled in. The whole house was a delight and was very clean.. The 'Welcome Basket' was just as described - a real treat. Everything - and I mean everthing- was provided and the property was exactly as described in the advert. The rooms are spacious,light and very clean. All fixtures and fittings are of very good quality. Outside is a nice garden with good seating area looking out of the fields - and of course Rory the horse. In the distance you can see the fells of the Lake District. The village is quiet and the whole area is peaceful. We had a great week exploring the Northern Lakes, especially around Ullswater including a strenuous walk up Hellvellyn - well almost up! We visited National Trust properties in the area and took an amaxing train ride from Appleby to Settle across the Yorkshire Moors.
I shall certainly recommend this property to others although I hope this won't mean that we are unable to book again in the future!!!!

We love Meadow Cottage

For anyone in need of a calming and peaceful holiday in a beautiful area, Meadow Cottage is a perfect place.

Stepping into the cottage you immediately see how clean and comfortable everything is. Go into the kitchen and there was a 'welcome basket' of goodies with something for the family to enjoy.

Look out of some of the windows and see Blencathra in the distance, a farmer's duck pond from another window, a pony in a field close to the property and occasionally some alpachas in another field.

Newton Reigny is a small, pretty and quiet village. Excellent area for walking and cycling.

There were various activities for our family to enjoy in the nearby area, a short drive away.

We spent a day at Eden Ostrich World where there are many things for small children to play on/pedal/climb/put coins in.

Rheged has a outdoor play area which was a particular favourite with our 8 year old son.

We visited a wonderful icecream parlour near Clifton several times.

Look out for local farm shops which sell excellent produce.

The owners of Meadow Cottage, Judith and Paddy offer first class customer service and are very helpful and pleasant.

We have had two holidays at this property and expect that we will stay there again in the future.
