Elba is the largest island in the Tuscan Archipelago, the third largest in Italy and the nearest to continental Europe. It is 5 miles off the coast of Tuscany and has an area of 100 square miles with a spectacular 70 mile long coastline.
There is a good ferry service from Piombino or there is the faster hydrofoil or hydro jet. You can also arrive by air at La Pila airport, Marina di Campo, in a medium-sized aircraft from several Italian and European cities.
Elba offers modern and well-equipped buildings there are also swimming pools, golf courses, sport facilities, riding stables, every kind of transport hire, trekking etc.
The climate is always mild with an average annual temperature of about 16°; the average in winter is about 10°, 14° in spring, 23° in summer and 17° in autumn.
