There is a lovely circular walk around Dinas Head and a pub-restaurant on the beach (local lobster). Picturesque Cwm yr Eglwys with its sand and shingle beach overlooked by the remains of 12th century St Brynach’s Church is within walking distance. Back inland there is an atmospheric pub and an excellent shop in Dinas Cross. Nearby Newport, a bustling small seaside town, is a short drive away – offering golf, two sandy beaches, great for watersports and beach games. There are several exceptional restaurants here, pubs, craft shops and a good butchers. Fishguard, the site of the Last Invasion of Britain in 1797, is a small market town with a selection of individual shops and award winning butchers/fishmongers. Further afield Pembrokeshire is littered with pre-historic sites, medieval castles and historic houses.

Brynhenllan Cottage

b&wp UK, London
Review Submitted: October 29, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Lovely cottage, peaceful and great location near to coast, beaches and stunning walks and views along coast.

Short walk takes you to the beach and coastal path.

The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and very cosy. Lovely log fire and lots of CD's to listen too.

No TV which makes a nice change.

The local pubs are great and serve good tasty beer and food.

Nearby is Newport with a big beach and more great walking and views.

We also went to St David's on a fast boat trip around Ramsey Island which I would highly recommend. Great fun and plenty of wildlife and more stunning views.

All in all a very relaxing place to be and a great home for a week.

Our honeymoon Cottage

Log Fire Lovers Mirfield
Review Submitted: October 8, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
We spent our honeymoon at Brynhenllan Cottage. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after our wedding.

The cottage is placed within a peaceful village and is very welcoming and homely, tastefully furnished, comfortable, clean, well maintained and equipped everything you could possibly need. If you love cosy log fires this is definitely the place to be. We can't complain about anything. You may be disappointed if you are expecting a TV and microwave.

We would certainly recommend this to anyone seeking a quiet break away from it all. If you like walking, beautiful scenery and wildlife this is an ideal location.

We'll be back for our anniversary!

A perfect retreat

annran London
Review Submitted: June 30, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
This is a beautiful cottage in an idyllic position with easy access to many wonderful bays and beaches. If the weather is bad there are many attractions nearby - St David's Cathedral, Melyn Tregwynt woolen mill and terrific walks along the cliff tops with regular sightings of seals. The cottage is ideal in summer but also in winter when the wood-burning stove and open fire make it cosy to come home to. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and well-maintained and it feels like a home. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

A real getaway

Review Submitted: May 13, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We arrived at Brynhenllan after our 4 hour drive through Shropshire and Mid Wales to be welcomed by the environment of the cottage which put us both in a very relaxed position and love the real fires!

The walk around Dinas Island and our tandem ride down the Cwm Gwaun Valley - are recommended and make sure you get to the Old Sailors Restaurant for a really romantic location - we were really lucky and got a lift back up to the cottage by one of the fisherman!

We will be back for more for sure as property's like this and fantastic owners are not easy to find but this one is a sure one.

Thanks, Peter & Sarah
