Awarded Four Star quality rating by VisitBritain this spacious country cottage is in the parkland like setting of Parkfield Farm, with 30 acres including woodland and a few friendly sheep (no cattle!). Cars are barely heard with only small country lanes nearby and the stars shine brightly. Fully renovated in 2009 the accommodation offers a high level of comfort with 3/4 bedrooms, bathroom and ensuite both with power showers, kitchen dining room, TV/living room with open fireplace, games room/bed 4, garage and large very private secure fenced garden with large deck and no pond in it. You have full use of the 30 acre farm for walking (with links to local foot paths) and exploring, including tennis court, adventure woodland area with zip wire, tyre swings, trampoline, stream and so on. The house has a new kitchen including dishwasher, washer dryer and microwave. FCH, broadband and utilities included.

Located in Dallington, East Sussex, in 1066 Country, this glorious corner of Southern England is great for walking, relaxing, family fun and eating, including excellent local country pubs. Also shopping in Royal Tunbridge Wells or trendy Brighton is fun. The historic town of Battle with its Abbey, restaurants and many individual shops is 7 miles away. Herstmonceux Castle with its magnificent moat alongside the Observatory Science Centre, with its domes and telescopes, part of the former home of the Royal Greenwich Observatory is 5 miles south. East Sussex has more woodland than any other county, making it a wonderful place to explore using the extensive network of footpaths (see OS Map 124). There is so much for families to do including local attractions Drusillas Park, Knockhatch Adventure Park and ski centre, Beachy Head, Eastbourne and Sovereign Harbour Marina, the Cuckoo Trail, Bewl Water (perfect for watersports and hiring bikes) and the Bluebell Railway.

Notes: Large deck area for smokers! 1 dog welcome, please keep out of bedrooms. The private fenced garden is large and is great for playing games, relaxing, BBQ. You are welcome to explore the 30 acres of land that make up the farm, this includes grassland, woodland and streams. The property is wheelchair accessible with a large family bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor which is entirely level. However there are a couple of small thresholds at the entrance. Our holiday here was one of the best and most relaxing breaks we've ever had as a family.
The accommodation is excellent - very spacious, clean and modern. The property has just been renovated and so everything is new. The kitchen/diner leads on to the garden decking so it's a wonderful inside/outside space. The living room is separate - great for parents' quiet time. And the playroom/fourth bedroom on the ground floor was a nice surprise - being downstairs and next to the dining room it was an ideal space for the children and the owners even provided some very clean and well kept toys.
What really made the holiday was the activities provided: tennis court and a massive trampoline with enclosure. In the barn there is table tennis and an air hockey table. Walks in the fields and the zip wire became the children's favourite. Oh and bottle feeding the lambs before bedtime was a great experience too!
The owner Sophie made us feel very welcome. She has three children and as a consequence I didn't feel at all worried about the noise my three children made. Their property is just a little down the track but the cottage is still very private and the gardens are completely separate. The cottage garden is fenced off all round the perimeter so great for smaller children.
And if that's not enough to keep you busy - the surrounding countryside is beautiful and the coast is only 20 minutes or so away by car.
I would definitely recommend this property for a family holiday. In fact we intend booking again for next year.

Stay here in September 2009 for just over a week. I had a great time at the location, so beautiful and peaceful.

Very well equipped house with everything you would need. Lovely landlords with lots of information about the area. Hopefully the internet will have better signal when we are back, as it is in the countryside signals can be a little weak. So we bought a laptop dongle that worked perfectly.

I have booked another stay already for November for just over a week and cant wait! Plus I miss the local old cat that gave us a little peek every so often.

Thank you very much for letting us stay at your lovely cottage.
