Situated in the centre of the Old Harbour area this new twin / double bedded ground floor apartment is a little gem offering the best possible location; 50 metres walk from the bars and restaurants in this harbour area. The fully equipped kitchen means it is also perfect for those planning a self-catering holiday. There are miles of excellent beaches to the south of this part of sunny Fuerteventura, and even on a busy day they are too big to be overcrowded. These beaches are popular with surfers, windsurfers and kite boarders, and their colourful sails and kites only add to the scenery. The north beach incorporates several lagoons which provide safe bathing. The circular stone windbreaks (corralles) that are a common feature in El Cotillo surround these lagoons. This beach is popular with naturist because of the available shelter and safe bathing. For sunbathing without sand try out the gigantic roof terrace which comes equipped with sun loungers.

El Cotillo The perfect destination for those looking for a quiet peaceful holiday. If tranquillity is your requirement then Cotillo is the place for you. Fuerteventura has an abundance of white sandy beaches and El Cotillo has some of the best. A short walk to the north of the village lie the famous lagoon beaches, perfect for swimming and very safe. To the south lies the Playa del Castillo, 2 kms long and used mainly for water sports, surfing, kite-surfing, wind-surfing etc. Further to the south lie the beaches of Playa del Ajibe and Playa del Aguila, both wild and remote. This area is truly the surfing and wind-surfing mecca of the island. El Cotillo is still a working fishing village and the local boats land most of their catch directly to the local restaurants, so you are guaranteed fresh fish!

A beautiful self contained apartment

I stayed at the Haven in El Cortillo for six nights and it was blissful. A beautiful self contained apartment with access to a sun terrace. You could hear the waves crashing on the nearby shore. If you need to get away from it all, this is the place for you. I travelled on my own and felt safe at all times. The beaches are a serious of little lagoons, you can have one to yourself if you want. I hired a care and explored the island very worthwhile. If you stay here eat on the little pier at the Resturant La playa, food is excellent, in fact all the resturants I eat in were good, authentic spainish cooking. Go to the pier in mid afternoon and you might see the man and his floating dog!! The dog floats on his back!! Amazing!

I had the most amazing time in El Cotillo, Fuerterventura. The apartment was perfect. Was everything you would possibly need a home from home. Had all the appliances for everyday use. The roof terrace was a lovely bonus. Everytime i was up there (and it was alot) no one else was. it is very quiet and peaceful just the relaxing sound of the waves from the beach. I was there when the carnival was on and was very interesting watching and listening to the community come together. Location was fantastic for the bars and restaurants, so much choice. (so little time) 2 weeks just wasn't enough for me. Will be going back next year im sure.
