Podkoren is arguably Slovenia's prettiest mountain village with stunning traditional alpine architecture set around a lovely square just 2km from Kranjska Gora, Slovenia's best known mountain resort and in walking distance to the Kranjska Gora World Cup ski pistes. Fully renovated internally & externally in recent years The Podkoren Apartments are located in an attractive stone & timber framed building on one side of the main square and have an independent entrance - ideal for larger groups wishing to rent both flats. The professionally designed interiors are of an exceptionally high quality with solid wood furnishings throughout giving a wonderful cosy alpine experience. The ground floor apartment features a very large open plan living room, dining area and kitchen, with access out onto a sunny terrace, bathroom, one double bedroom and one twin room (bunk beds). The 1st floor apartment has a large open plan living & dining area, small kitchen, lovely balcony & bedroom with 3 bunks.

The ground floor apartment has a very large open plan living room, dining room, kitchen with balcony doors out onto a terrace with bench seating for outdoor eating in Summer months. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and bedroom 2 has a bunk bed for 2 people. The living area has comfortable handmade Austrian style cushioned bench seating which doubles as twin sofabed accommodation for 2 people. The dining area is spacious and comfortable and in proximity to the kitchen area. Furnishing throughout is of an extremely high quality.

Located in main square of the idyllic alpine village of Podkoren in walking distance to pistes connecting to the Kranjska Gora ski area. There is an excellent restaurant / bar just a few seconds walk away. 2km from Kranjska Gora itself, Slovenia's best known mountain resort with excellent beginner & family skiing, some more advanced skiing & a wealth of other ski opportunities in the area for all abilities (3 resorts in 30 mins drive, 5 more in an hours drive). Skiing 3 resorts in 3 countries in 3 days is easily possible! Kranjska Gora has excellent tourist facilities with a range of bars, restaurant, shops, swimming pools, spas, tennis, mountain bike park, summer sledging piste etc. The first floor apartment has views over the pretty main square of Podkoren with the World Cup ski pistes in the distance & the mountain scenery in the area is stunning. Outstanding walking, biking and horseriding in the area. Easy day trips to world famous Lake Bled (30 mins) and lovely Ljubljana (1hr).

Ski: Walking distance from the apartments to the Podkoren side of the Kranjska Gora ski area, Slovenia's stunning and best known area with annual world cup ski jumping at Planica (2km from the house) & slalom at Podkoren area of the resort (sit on the balcony of the apartments and watch the races!). A fantastic base for exploring the wide variety of skiing in the region in Slovenia, Austria & Italy. It is easily possible to ski a different resort every day for a week [Kranjska Gora / Ratece (Slo) - 5 min, Tarvisio (IT) - 20 min, Arnoldstein (Aus) - 30mins, Kanin, Vogel & Krvavec (Slo), Sella Nevea (It), Gerlitzen & Nassfeld (Aus) - 60mins] and the various ski areas offer a wide range of beginner to advanced level and off piste skiing. There is a fantastic nordic ski centre with a range of trails 2km from the house. In the Kranjska Gora area there are an abundance of tourist facilities, from restaurants to bars, shops, spas & pools.

Other Activities: A huge array of outdoor activities from Summer sledging to mountain bike park, night toboganning to skidoo adventures!
