Le Moulin is situated on the border of Brittany and Normandy, making the location ideal for touring both regions. Our cottages are situated only 1.5km from the picturesque village of St Martin de Landelles offering a bar and small supermarket etc. The market town of St Hilaire du Harcouet, with its choice of restaurants, shops, swimming pool, supermarkets etc is just 10 mins away by car. Millers cottage offers the following accommodation- ground floor is open plan with the kitchen situated one end fitted with oak units and comprises of double electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher etc. Living/dining area with granite fireplace fitted with wood-burning stove, chestnut flooring and 3 comfy sofas, flat screen TV/video, DVD player, radio/CD player and games. Upstairs has a wooden floor with exposed beams, a single bed and access onto a balcony. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with single bed. Bathroom with large shower, wash basin, wc, bidet.

Millers cottage stands in its own grounds with various seating areas, patio with BBQ wooden table and chairs. With pleasant evening strolls along the banks of the stream. The tranquil sound of running water in the stream can be heard throughout the grounds, and makes for a very relaxing atmosphere. There are quiet country walks from the properties or you can stroll to St Brice or St Martin for a drink (about 15 mins walk). The lanes around the area are ideal for cycling very quiet. Horse riding 30 mins away. Coast/Beach In 35 mins you can explore the beautiful beaches of the Cotentin peninsula along with all that it has to offer, it is a haven for the active offering windsurfing, kitesurfing, kitebuggying, sailing, sand yachting etc. With an excellent tuition and hire facility at Jullouville. The Mont St Michel is a medieval treasure and a must to visit, inland there are many regional natural parks such as the Cotentin and Bessin. The area is also perfect for walking,

Millers Cottage is accessed via a lane which only runs to these properties therefore it is very peaceful. Each cottage is totally seperate with their own gardens and parking areas etc. However, they do offer the perfect opportunity for two famillies to share the same location, yet be independent from one another. For those out of season breaks the properties benefit from full central heating and efficient woodburning stoves.

Le Moulin Les Hayes, charming rural retreat

The description of this property understated its stunning location and excellent facilities. This old French water mill has be lovingly renovated and maintained to a high standard by its very diligent owners. This care of the premises is also reflected in the high standard of customer service they offer. We would recommend this to anyone who is looking for the feeling of rural French life without losing their modern comforts. Given this setting and the weather we could easily have not moved from the garden for the first week. Fortunately we had read previous reviews that recommended taking bikes to make the most of the cycling on the quiet roads and green routes. Even without the bikes there are woodland walks around Les Butts nature reserve just over a mile away. Not very much further is the country park of La Mazure and its beautiful lake. Hiring a motor boat here one sunny afternoon we found ourselves the only people on the water. Less than an hour away are the west Normandy beaches of the Cherbourg Peninsula. We returned a couple of times to the one at Jullouville as this became very popular with our young children. This was a great family holiday. The only downside was the unexpected congestion we met on a number of toll roads on our way home.

An excellent chill out!

Wow! What a great place to stay and really get away from it all! We stayed in Miller's Cottage and were absolutely delighted with the property. The owners have paid a great deal of attentition to detail - you really feel as though it is home from home and not 'just another rental property''. Clearly a great deal of thought has gone into making the accommodation feel really clean, comfortable and welcoming.

We stayed at the property in June and the weather was fabulous - paddling in the stream that runs through the garden was an unexpected bonus!!!! We enjoyed several barbecues and enjoyed star gazing at really clear, seemingly pollution free skies - or maybe that was the excellent local wine taking over!

We would thoroughly recommend this property - either as a base to visit beaches and tourist venues such as Le Mont St Michel or as a chillout place to stay in and not move from!

Great Time Had by All

Great property, great location. We had a big group and took both cottages which worked out great. The standard of the accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable and very cosy. The sight of the woodburner is tempting us to come back for a cosy winter visit ! Nice and private with 5 acres to roam on and a stream to play in. We all had a good time and will no doubt be back. We did the Normandy beaches and Mt St Michel both on day trips from the cottage.
