The ground floor comprises of an entrance hall and downstairs small lounge with sofa and double sofa bed. A door leads onto the shady courtyard with access to a fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker including oven and grill, fridge freezer, microwave and rustic furniture. A further door leads off the courtyard to the downstairs double bedroom with ensuite shower. Stairs lead from the entrance hall to the attractive, airy first floor lounge with sofa's, wood fire and dining area. A small balcony looks out across the village with views to the coast. Steps lead to the the main shower room and a double (or twin) bedroom with dressing and vanity area. A further stairways leads to a superb roof terrace with views of the village, mountains and down to the coast to Gibraltar and Africa. The terrace has a range of furniture - table, chairs, sunbeds and BBQ. There is also a small storage / utility room with automatic washing machine.

Casa San Isidoro is a tastefully renovated courtyard village house on three floors ideal for two or four people and in one of Andalucia's most attractive White Villages. Gaucin, dominated by its castle and the twisting narrow streets, the white-washed houses and the flower-covered balconies give the village a distinctly Moorish flavour. From the lounge and terrace there are supurb views down to the Mediterranean and on clear days Gibraltar and the Rif mountains of Africa. Casa San Isidoro is situated in Gaucin on the southern edge of the Sierrania de Ronda and is one of the most attractive Pueblos Blancos in Andalucia. Gaucin village contains several small friendly supermarkets, two banks, a medical centre, a range of restaurants and tapas bars, a pleasant swimming pool and tennis courts and ruined castle.

More details about the house: Casa San Isidoro is on three floors. For off season lets there are gas heaters and a wood fire. Gas and electricity are included in the price as is wood for two nights – extra wood can be purchased locally and /or in advance. Bird watching day tours to local sites for specific Mediterranean species available for both experienced and novice birdwatchers. Binoculars, telescope and tripod available for client’s use - rates on request

Things to do in the local area : Gaucin is surrounded by some of the most splendid mountain scenery and national parks in Andalucia. It is ideally located for a range of outdoor pursuits and activities, particularly for birdwatching, walking, painting, sketching and photography and for the more energetic; rambling, mountain walking, climbing and horse-riding. Both freshwater and sea fishing are readily available. Windsurfing in all its forms is centred on Tarifa. Safe family bathing is available at the local resorts of Sabinillias, Duquesa and Estepona, 30 – 40 minutes away and as well the local rivers and Roman sulphur baths nearby. Dolphin and whale-watching is available from Estepona, Gibraltar and Tarifa. Further afield are the major Moorish towns of Ronda, Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada and with Morocco just 35 minutes by hydro-foil from Tarifa. Alternatively, of course, you can stay locally, relax, soak up the village atmosphere, or just sunbathe!
