Beautiful 200 year old self-catering cottage, near Lisdonagh Manor, 5 min from Headford town pubs, restaurants and shops. 20 min from Galway and its attractions. It is near to Lough Corrib and Lough Hackett, which are excellent for fishing. Salthill beach is also close by, which is perfect for families. Hiking, cycling, golf and horse-riding are available in the local countryside or go to the magnificent Connemara Mountains. Galway races are a great attraction in July, August, September and October. The cottage sits in two acres of private land opposite a protected area of forest and is completely private and secluded with its own gated driveway. It has been completely refurbished and fully modern. Plasma TV, flame effect electric fire and sofa bed, sleeps 2. The cottage sleeps up to four people, plus a cot and contains craftsman custom-fitted wardrobes Towels & bed linen are provided. Outdoor 3 seater swing chair to enjoy peacefull tranquility. Electric included £200-£350 per week.

The magnificent Connemara Mountains are worth a visit. If you require more heat, switch on the electric storage heaters. Outside is a comfortable swing chair to sit and enjoy the peaceful tranquility. It is ideally located to explore the ancient City of Galway 15 to 20 minute drive. If your interest is music, theatre, history or shopping you will not be disappointed. From Galway City there's a ferry to the Aran Islands daily (in season). Explore Connemara National Park, 'Kylemore Abbey' home to the Benedictine nuns and scenic Clifden. Ashford Castle in Cong - The former home of the Guinness Family has beautiful gardens to visit or take the Corrib Cruise. The picturesqe village of Cong was the location for the 'Quiet Man.'

Being in a private, quiet location off secondary roads was what I wanted. There's nothing in the immediate area, which is a good thing. It turned out to be a pretty good starting point to visit both local relatives and also to drive to Connemara. I didn't go into Galway as I can see a town anywhere. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were especially handy. I sensed I was in a home where generations of good people lived. That's a nice thing to wake up to. I'd rent there again instead of a b&b. If you go, bring some apples or carrots for the pony in the adjoining field.

I stayed in this cottage for 9 glorious days. Granted I was not here much, however I always had a nice cozy place to lay my head after a day of exploring west Ireland. My only neighbors were sheep, and they were good and quiet neighbors. The pictures are exact. Evelyn the property manager was more than accomdating and even lent me her hair dryer, the one and only thing I forgot in Texas. Headford and Shrule offer good restaurants and pubs. The quiet of this location is all a city dweller needs as a total get away! I have nothing negative to say about this cottage. If I have the chance I will stay again.

the cottage everything offers what you needs in a holiday apartment. It is very well-arranged and above all comfortable. We have very nice days. The rest which you can have is a dream. When you will see the western side of Ireland it is on a perfect place. We would book any time again.
