Photos and Description of this Azille holiday house Spacious village house with three double bedrooms and sitting area to front

A traditional village house opening onto a tree lined boulevard which runs the length of the village. The village, which is very friendly, is well served for your everyday needs, plus a Saturday market. It accommodates seven people and is arranged on two floors. On the ground floor there is a hall off which to one side are the kitchen/breakfast room and utility room. The kitchen is fitted to a high specification including dishwasher. The utility has a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer. To the other side of the hall is the lounge/dining room. There are three bedrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds, the third has three single beds. There is a large shower room with washbasin, bidet and WC. There are table and chairs for use outside the house. There is satellite TV (freeview) and DVD. For cooler months there is central heating. Bed linen and towels can be provided at an extra cost. House is available all year.

Azille is centrally located for the cities of Carcassonne and Narbonne, close to the historic sites of the Canal du Midi (with opportunities for boat hire/trips), Minerve, the Roman pottery and the Abbey of Fontfroide. The National Park of The Black Mountains is about 30 minutes drive away and the Pyrenees about 1 hour 30 minutes, giving opportunities for skiing trips. The coast is about 45 minutes away and offers a range of sandy beaches, marinas, salt marshes and fishing villages. Within a 5 minute drive, or a leisurely cycle ride is the pleasure lake with swimming, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and plenty of space for picnics and games. Tennis is in the village. There is a golf course at Carcassonne. The wine from the locality are excellent; there are restaurants for eating out and excellent markets specialising in local produce.

    Summary of Booking Conditions -
    To reserve the Property, the Client should complete and sign the Booking Form and return it together with payment of the initial non-refundable deposit (25% of the total rent due). The balance of the rent together with a security deposit of 100 euros for each week of the rental period (or part thereof) is required in case of, for example, damage to the Property or its contents, is payable not less than eight weeks before the start of the rental period. The rental period shall commence at 2.00 pm on the first day and finish at 10.00 am on the last day. The maximum number to reside in the Property must not exceed 6 unless the Owner has given written permission.

Notes: Kitchen Facilities - The kitchen (front facing) is newly and fully fitted and has electric oven, microwave, gas hob with fan over and a dishwasher. There is an electric coffee machine and toaster and we ensure there are basic condiments such as sugar, oil, salt & pepper. The worktops are in oak and there are tiled splashbacks. There is a small table for informal eating. Leading off the kitchen is the utility room, which has an additional sink, plus fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, iron & ironing board. There is a vacuum cleaner and outdoor drying facilities. External Facilities - From the hallway, the house opens onto the tree-lined boulevard and we provide table and chairs for outdoor use. There is car parking space, also on the boulevard.

Living Rooms: The aspect of the house is east and south. The large bright living/dining room has windows to the front and side aspects. It is comfortably furnished to accommodate seven people. There is a large dining table and in the lounge area there are two three seater settees, plus armchairs. For year round comfort, in addition to gas central heating, there is a wood burning stove. There is television with (free to air) satellite channels, a video and DVD player. There are also books and games. The staircase, traditionally built with terracotta steps, leads from the living room to the first floor. As well as a central light, there are table and floor lamps to create a relaxing ambiance.

Public transport and Taxi: To appreciate the area to its full a car is preferable. There is a regular bus service to Carcassonne and taxi travel is possible. Wonderful, relaxing time in the South of France

My husband and I rented this lovely house October 11 through 16. Azille seems to be a very quiet town (especially in the fall/winter) but for us it was perfect as a starting point to explore the surrounding region. The house is old, charming and very clean with a nice kitchen and comfortable living room. It was well-appointed with everything you might need to cook and feel at home. The owners were very nice and welcoming and we would definitely stay there again. There's one local bar, a baker and a grocer, but we actually found it more convenient to do the grocery shopping in larger supermarkets around Narbonne or Carcassonne when taking day trips to see the sights. It was a lovely stay and if we get a chance, we'll be back.

Wonderful Vacation

The house was immaculate and comfortable. The kitchen was excellent, cooking with the local ingredients from the markets was delightful. The owners provided information on the village and surrounding areas which was very helpful for us. The shop owners and townspeople were all friendly and welcoming. We especially enjoyed a visit to the nearby village of Caunes Minervois which is known for its red marble sculptures. A lovely stay, we hope to return.

Brilliant relaxing holiday

Third stay at this exquisite traditionally French house. The owners are really friendly and so welcoming the house is very clean and very welcoming. The local villagers are really friendly and approachable, especially if your French is not too good. There is a local bar which does lovely food in the evenings, and local shops.

There are some wonderful local villages to explore, some hold traditional French markets which are brilliant for local produce etc. There is a local lake to laze by in the sun, swim or take part in the water sports available

There are so many places to visit like the Canal du Midi, which you can cycle along, take a boat trip or simply sit by it, in one of the delightful restaurants. A car drive through beautiful countryside will take you to larger towns, such as Beziers, Carcassonne Citie ( which is steeped in history), Narbonne Plage has an amazing long beach of silver sand and deep blue sea, and yes we are booking a holiday there next year.

hemos estado una semana en esta casa fantástica, regentada por bob y patsy(encantadora) la casa tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar,lavadora, secadora, lavavajillas, las estancias son muy confortables y amplias, todo superlimpio, en fin una casa supercoqueta, el pueblo es bonito y tranquilo, la gente ha sido muy amable con nosotros, está cerca de carcassonne, narbona, mirepoix, etc. a diez minutos en coche hay un lago precioso, donde mi hija se lo paso a lo grande, desde aquí os envío un fuerte abrazo y sin duda volveremos,gracias por todo

Fantastic Stay

This was a truly marvellous stay. The owners could not have been more helpful or friendly, this is also true of the neighbours and the villagers of Azille. A lovely place. The nearby Lake is also great for families. The nearby village of La Redourte has a supermarket and an ATM. The village of Azille has some facilities but a car is needed. Altogether a truly great experience and without hesiation I would recommend this to anyone.
