The stylish and comfortably furnished holiday apartment lies in the north of Mauritius, near the centre of Grand Baie. The nearest beach, where our boat is moored, is five minutes on foot. The apartment is on the first floor while the German/Mauritian owners live on the ground floor. I have lived in Mauritius, my new home, for fifteen years and promise to do my utmost to make your holiday stay here unforgettable. I look forward to showing you round my ‘Mauritius’ - both its countryside and its marine wealth.

Grand Baie is considered the heart of Mauritius because of its beautiful bay, yacht harbour and the many leisure and sporting activities on offer. You will find a well-stocked supermarket, restaurants, boutiques, snack bars, cafés, banks, pharmacies and doctors all within the immediate vicinity of your holiday apartment. If you want to explore the rest of the island there are many places where you can hire a car, moped or bicycle. Of course you can take the bus, the main public transport on Mauritius, and for a few cents you can reach any part of the island. There is also a fast express bus service which runs between Grand Bay and the capital Port Louis. The nightlife in the bars and discos here is lively, which is not the case elsewhere, except in the hotel complexes. There are many one-day boat excursions which start out from Grand Bay and visit the nearby islands, where you can go snorkelling in the crystal-clear water and enjoy a delicious fish barbecue on the beach.

Notes: The living room is nicely furnished and decorated. It is located in the middle of the apartment. All the other rooms can be reached from here. There is a telephone and an Internet connection. Entertainment is provided by a CD/cassette/ HiFi unit and a television. The spacious terrace is completely roofed and can be reached from the kitchen through a push door. It is equipped with a large wooden table, 5 chairs and a seating bank all of which make it a favourite place to have a long, laid back holiday breakfast, or a candlelit dinner. The bathroom contains a roomy shower cabinet with glass doors and a large wash basin with a granite top. The toilet is in a separate room and can be accessed from the living room and from the shower.

wir haben uns gleich wie zu Hause gefühlt und jeden Abend auf der großen Terrasse den Blick in den hauseigenen, privaten Urwald genossen.
Die Einrichtung der Wohnung hat Stil, alles ist harmonisch.
Man hat alles was man braucht.

Annette war immer für uns da, sei es für gute Tipps oder für fehlenden Knobi.
Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis war die Bootsfahrt mit Hervé. Er hat uns seine Insel und sein Meer ganz nahe gebracht.

Die Bevölkerung besitzt eine natürliche Freundlichkeit und Fröhlichkeit.

Von Grand Baie aus kann man viel unternehmen. Es ist völlig unkompliziert mit öffentlichen Bussen andere Strände oder Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erreichen. Als Fußgänger sollte man allerdings sehr wachsam sein, es gibt keine Bürgersteige und an den Linksverkehr gewöhnt man sich nicht so schnell.

Grand Baie eignet sich aber auch sehr gut zum faulenzen am Strand. Es gibt da eine wunderschöne Bucht mit klarem, türkisfarbenen Wasser, die sich sehr gut zum schwimmen eignet.
Empfehlenswert für einen Snack zwischendurch sind die Garküchen. Es schmeckt dort sehr lecker und ist außerdem total preisgünstig.
Der örtliche Supermarkt ist gut sortiert, ein Taxi von dort zur Wohnung kostet ca. 3,50€

Der Urlaub bei Annette und Hervé war so schön, dass wir ihn bestimmt wiederholen werden.

Ein unvergessener Urlaub liegt hinter uns. Tolle Ferienwohnung mit allem und mehr was man braucht, wunderschöne Einrichtung und viel Platz, das Beste ist aber dass man in das Leben der Menschen integriert ist und die Insel von Ihrer schönsten Seite genießen kann. So werden Träume wahr

Diese Ferienwohnung gehört wohl zu den schönsten auf der Insel. Die deutsche Gastgeberin Annette hat mit ihrem Flair für Architektur und Inneneinrichtung ein äusserst angenehmes Wohnambiente geschaffen. Da fühlten wir uns rundum wohl. Hervé, ihr Inselmann, führte uns mit seinem schönen Boot zu paradiesischen Plätzen. Sein gebratener Fisch und die flambierten Bananen, zubereitet auf einer unbewohnten Trauminsel, waren einfach himmlisch. Die geneigten Leser/innen dieser Zeilen merken: Schon die Gastgeber alleine sind eine Reise wert. Mauritius ist da noch eine fantastische Zugabe.
Ja, das war Urlaub der Extraklasse.

Unbedingt zu empfehlen für alle, die mehr von der Insel sehen möchten, als nur ihr Hotel. Der Ort hat alles, was man braucht. Tolle gepflegte Wohnung, super nette "Herbergsmutter" ;-) und eine Bootstour, die am letzten Tag dem ganzen noch die Krone aufsetzte. Vielen Dank Euch beiden für die schöne Zeit. Gruß aus dem kalten deutschen Norden. Dörte u. Thomas
