Alentejo offers visitors a glimpse of rural life in one of Europe’s most undiscovered regions. From cork forests to fortified medieval towns, vineyards and great cuisine, there is lots to keep visitors busy.
As a working farm, Passareiro also offers a chance to see traditional farm activities. In late May you can see the unique process of cork stripping and September is time for grape harvesting. Early spring is lambing season and the fields come alive with wildflowers. Guests are welcome to walk on the estate, exploring our vineyards and cork forests.
Nearby is the World Heritage town of Evora, with its white-washed houses and Roman ruins, including the famous Temple of Diana. Evora is a charming university town with plenty of shops and restaurants.
Other historic towns are nearby and there are several prehistoric sites to be explored. The area also offers horse-riding, biking, nature walks and Go-Karting. Wine tastings can be arranged
