'Knocknamona House' family holiday accommodation is situated on the north side of the Beara Peninsula in beautiful West Cork.It is a newly built residence, nestled in the foothills of Knocknamona hill in a rural farmland area. Enjoy panoramic sea views of Kenmare bay and Ardgroom Harbour. The holiday home is overlooked by the Caha mountains and situated on the Beara way (walking route). Nearest amenities are in Ardgroom village (4kms).These include a shop, pub, restaurant, post office and church. It is located 15kms from Castletownbere, 30kms from Kenmare and 60kms from Killarney. The area offers astounding scenery and a peaceful and tranquil environment. Local outdoor activities include, walking, cycling, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, boating, kayaking, and mountain climbing.

The Beara Peninsula is steeped in myths and legends. The mountains and valleys are rich in archaeological sites such as stone circles, wedge graves and other relics from the past. We have scenic lakes cradled by gorgeous mountains and a rugged coastline with lots of great fishing spots. Linking all this together is the Beara Way walking trail. Other options include, the Ring of Beara scenic driving or cycling route. Local amenities: Ardgroom Village offers the nearest shop, petrol station, pub and restaurant. Enjoy a peaceful walk by Glenbeg Lake. Nearest beach is 800m, where you can swim or simply relax and watch the seals. There is a powerboating and sailing centre in Adrigole. Castletownbere Fishing Port (fresh fish available daily). Ferry trips to Bere Island. Golf Course and Bicycle Hire. Kenmare is a scenic town with some excellent Irish Craft shops, coffee shops bookshops amd restaurants. Cruises available on Kenmare bay.
