A delightful converted stables, with many of its original features. A detached property located in a working farmyard. Plenty of parking. Guests can relax on the patio of the Private Orchard Garden. Dairy cattle and sheep graze the surrounding fields. The Stables has a light and airy lounge with a sofa bed and comfy sofas, TV, DVD player. A well equipped kitchen, which includes, full oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. Downstairs WC and a coat cupboard. A Spiral staircase leads you upstairs. Large master bedroom with en suite shower and WC. Two twin rooms, one of which can be made into a triple on request. Large bathroom with shower, bath and WC. Centrally heated throughout. All bedding and bath towels included. A cot and highchair are also included if required. We are a working Dairy farm and visitors are welcome to watch the milking and other seasonal activities on the farm. Lots of space for the children to play.

The Old Stables are located in a central position, for exploring Cornwall. Only 5 minutes from the main road. Cornwall offers breathtaking scenery, costal walk, fabulous beaches and open countryside. The North Coast is very dramatic with high cliffs and wonderful surf, the South Coast has large sandy beaches. There are many historic fishing ports within easy reach, Padstow, St ives and Penzance are still homes to Cornish fishermen. Sailing is very popular, particularly from Fowey and Falmouth. The world famous Eden Project is just a few miles up the road. There are several golf courses within 15 miles of The Old Stables. If Gardens and Historical House are your interests there are many within a short distance including Lanhydrock House, Trerice and St Michaels Mount. Bodmin Moor which were mentioned in Daphne Du Maurier books is within a few miles

Local Amenities: In the local village we are lucky to have most amenities that you will need during your stay. These include a butcher, fishmonger, deli, local pubs, local chinese restaurant and takeaway, an award winning fish and chip shop, MacDonalds. There is also a local garage and small grocery store. We hope you wont need it but there is also a Doctors in the village. There is also a large shop where you can purchase gifts and surfwear. We can also recommend several restaurants and local pubs a short drive away whilst you are in Cornwall. We live in the farmhouse next to the Old Stables and we will be available to show you into The Old Stables and can help with any information you require during your stay. Although there is no internet access in The Old Stables, we can offer you limited access from the farmhouse if required.

The Locality: If you have children and wish to have a day away from the beaches there are many options that you may wish to consider, Dairyland, Creally adventure park and Flambards are fantastic days out to keep the whole family entertained. Walks on the coast or bike rides on the Camel Trail or The Goss Moor Cycle trail are popular pastimes for guests and us alike. Cornwall has a rich history including tin mining, china clay and fishing and there are many visitors attractions that may be of interest to you. Local artists can be found in many areas of Cornwall and none more so than in St Ives where you can find the Tate Gallery, which offers many facilities. If you wish to have an evening to remember a trip to Porthcurno to the Minack Theatre is recommended. The stage is built on the cliff and on many occasions whilst watching the show, dolphins have been spotted swimming past. Cornwall and the locality can offer a wide range of activities to suit all ages.

Stayed 7-14 June and had a great week.

The Stables had everything we needed and was very clean. The heating was very efficient on chilly evenings and there was always plenty of hot water.

Claire and Andrew had plenty of time to answer all our questions, show us their farm and thank you Claire for the freshly baked cake on our arrival!

You will find The Stables ideally situated in the centre of Cornwall making all the tourist attractions within easy reach.

The village petrol station has a well stocked convenience store, sells newspapers and almost anything else you may need can be found there! Also in the village, which is about a 20 minute walk, you will find the pub, a very good fish and chip shop (quite expensive) and a Chinese restaurant/takeaway (very reasonable).

This was our first holiday in the UK for over 10 years (we usually go abroad) and can thoroughly recommend The Stables and Cornwall which has beautiful coastlines and lots more (even our two teenagers enjoyed it)!

Excellent stay, i would definately recommend this

Our group consisted of 7, 18-19year olds. The cottage was exactly as described, and a warm welcome was received. It was very clean and maintained to a high standard. It has accessible facilities, e.g. downstairs toilet. The cottage was situated so that we could do a lot of sight-seeing around various bays and country-side. I would highly recommend this property to all kinds of people.

A superb holiday rental

The accommodation was to a high standard throughout and clean and tidy. Clear and easy to follow directions were provided by Claire who was very helpful and able to suggest places to visit/eat.

The haomebaked cakes Claire provided on departure were a nice finish.

Convenient location for Eden project etc.

Recommended as a place to get away from it all- definately need a car.
