Spetses is an island with a long history and naval tradition. Today it is considered as a cosmopolitan island of high standards and it attracts local and foreigner tourists.The interesting architecture, the greenery and the clear sea-water give an additional charm to Spetses. A part of it the beautiful beaches and yachting bays, you can also enjoy the visit of the private museum located in Dapia; it is housed in the home of Bouboulina, and displays a collection of personal objects and household furnishing of the Spetsiote heroine.
The mainland is a ten minute water-taxi ride away. This means that you can easily visit the ancient theatre of Epidavros, the old capital city of Greece, and also last but not least, Mycenae (one hour’s drive away)
Half an hour away by “flying dolphins” (fast over craft) is the picturesque and cosmopolitan island of Hydra.
Athens is only at a 2 hour ride by boat or by car.
