This superb detached (attached to the Chapel), two-level Devon cottage has been recently refurbished and offers guests high-quality accommodation. It is situated in the heart of the pretty village of Georgeham with its selection of pubs, scenic walks and country views, and only a short walk/drive (1 mile) to the fantastic surfing and bathing beaches of Croyde and Putsborough. The cottage is 2 miles from Braunton Burrows, the golden beaches of Saunton and Woolacombe, the renowned Saunton Golf Course. There are many interesting places to visit and family attractions in this area including visitor-friendly Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin as well as the chocolate-box village of Croyde.

The beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe regularly win awards for cleanliness and safety and are manned by lifeguards throughout the summer months. Most of the region appears to be untouched by time as sleepy, windy lanes reveal thatched roofed cottages and historic buildings and villages such as Lynton in the north of the region and Clovelly in the south. The village of Croyde has many examples of cob walled, thatched cottages. Croyde is ideally located within easy reach of the harbours of Clovelly and Lynmouth which are also perfect places to relax. Meander through the streets of Lynmouth and take a ride on the unique water powered cliff railway to the twin town of Lynton which is perched high on the cliffs. Clovelly is another of the prettiest coastal village where it feels as if time stood still. The only means of transport on these famous cobbled streets are donkeys and sleds. There are beaches at Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton, near Braunton.

There are many interesting places to visit and family attractions in this area including visitor-friendly Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and Combe Martin as well as the chocolate-box village of Croyde. Dating back at least 300 years the immaculate accommodation offers many character features such as exposed beams and wooden/stone floors, yet is furnished and equipped in a modern contemporary style and has FOUR bedrooms. Stunning Art-deco and retro furnishings add to the feel of this beautiful cottage.

Interior Facilities: Downstairs lounge with flat screen TV, DVD, hi-fi and comfortable sofas a second reception room with additional small flat screen TV with DVD and children’s toy box. Dining table seating 8. Kitchen with granite worktops and stone floor comprises electric cooker/hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave and many useful extras. Outside is a peaceful, private and enclosed garden only accessible through the cottage, so perfect for children - the patio has garden furniture and a BBQ. Parking for one car on site, plus further free parking in village car park within 500 meters.

Summer Cottage was everything that had been promised. Everything was immaculate and a welcoming bottle of red had been kindly left by the owners. The decor was excellent with a mix of contemporary (in the bathroom) and art-deco (in the dining room). The kitchen was very well equipped and french doors led into a lovely private garden ideal for storing bikes and surfboards! Beams and small steps from room to room and remember to duck when going into the bathroom, lots of original features of the 300 year old cottage.
A suggestion for the owners could be to provide a washer/dryer which would have been very useful during our weeks stay to dry off damp clothes and towels as the weather was very showery. On the Friday morning we had problems with the electricity - no power in the kitchen - but within the hour the owners had sorted this out. Excellent service!
This cottage is very close to Croyde and Putsborough beaches, but Croyde is probably the easiest to get to as the lane to Putsborough is very narrow but with lots of passing places.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.
