The beaches at Croyde and Woolacombe regularly win awards for cleanliness and safety and are manned by lifeguards throughout the summer months. Most of the region appears to be untouched by time as sleepy, windy lanes reveal thatched roofed cottages and historic buildings and villages such as Lynton in the north of the region and Clovelly in the south. The village of Croyde has many examples of cob walled, thatched cottages. Croyde is ideally located within easy reach of the harbours of Clovelly and Lynmouth which are also perfect places to relax. Meander through the streets of Lynmouth and take a ride on the unique water powered cliff railway to the twin town of Lynton which is perched high on the cliffs. Clovelly is another of the prettiest coastal village where it feels as if time stood still. The only means of transport on these famous cobbled streets are donkeys and sleds. There are beaches at Woolacombe, Combe Martin, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton, near Braunton.

Entrance: From the private parking area through a latched gate to the fully enclosed garden mainly laid to lawn and with substantial wooden play equipment & swing. A path leads to the front door which opens into the reception hall:

Dining Sittting, room: Dining Room Cream painted room with feature beams, large inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove. Deep window sills offer views over the garden. Dine in style with a large dining table and seating for up to 16 people, CD music system and selection of discs. A range of board games also available. Sitting Room with wood-burning stove, 2 & 3 seater leather sofas and range of leather cube stools, widescreen TV with Freeview, DVD player and collection of DVDs. Deep-set window overlooking the garden.

Garden: Outside the large level garden is great for play, with large climbing frame incorporating slide and triple swing set, or outdoor entertaining with garden furniture provided. Plenty of room outside for board storage and drying of wetsuits and beach gear.

What a lovely place to stay!!!

We had 16 people in our group, and all were adequately catered for in the sleeping department. We were initially a bit worried about the minimal bathroom facilities, however there was not a problem at the end of the day. The living areas were fine for the number in our group - I particularly liked the huge dining table which we were all able to sit around and enjoy our meals. All crockery was provided to cater for us, mugs were a bit small, would suggest bringing your own if you like a nice bucket of tea first thing. Tesco's have a fair sized store just down the road, so groceries to hand. We went in October and the log burners were lovely to warm up to in the evenings. We went surfing in Croyde, quad biking mear Ilfracombe, rock pooling at Coombe Martin and out for a lovely meal at the Tarka Inn - 5 mins drive up the road. All in all a fantastic break out of season. Would definately recommend this property. The only problem we had was finding the farm - it is in the middle of a built up area - obviously was farm land - sold off and developed on. However farm solid enough not to be affected by built up area, not sure how this would fare in the summer if you wanteed to chill out in the garden though.
