This stay has been the most memorable of our lives and all we’d hoped for and more.
First of all, the attic was exactly as described and very clean. The property has been recently deeply renovated, a great job of designing and equipping for comfortable and easy living.
Outstanding views from all windows. Airy and spacious, light floods the two bedroom, living room and the loft in the morning, while the living room (two open sided), the kitchen and the bathroom enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. This side, the sunset over the Frari Church and San Pantalon Church is unbelievable. It seems you can touch the Frari’s XIV century bell-tower.
The property is in a most convenient part of the city for arrival with baggage and for reaching all the sights. Neighbourhood is lively but not crowded by day, very peaceful by night.
So much to do right on the doorstep, nice restaurants (30 meters from a charming, unforgettable venetian bar-restaurant with a few tables by the Rio dela Frescada canal), gelateria, shops, several local churches (Tiziano was buried in the Frari Church close to his masterpiece the “Assunta”) and museums (the “Scuola Grande of San Rocco” which has more important works by Tintoretto then anywhere else).
A 10 min. short walk we were at Rialto Bridge and both the Guggenheim and the Accademia museums. We walked also to St. Marks easily.
Grand Canal water bus station “San Tomà” was 2 min. walking from the attic.
Minutes to a friendly greengrocer, bakery, a 7 days a week open supermarket (Billa) and a nice typical wine shop. Take your empty plastic bottles to be filled with lovely wines for a very few euros.
We cooked and eat with ease and found the basics left for us (a Prosecco welcome bottle + tea, coffee, sugar, soaps, shower-gel, loo rolls, etc.) handy for settling in before managed to get the shops on arrival. The owner also prepared a really helpful list of suggested restaurants and shops in the attic area.
Everything this rental exceeded expectations, we would return in a heartbeat!
