Nice stay in Iceland

Our family spent 10 days in Iceland last june. The apartment was comfortable, clean, well equipped and well situated. We were able to find nearby market stores for our meals preparation. It was also very easy to walk to the center of Reykjavik. We rent a car with the apartment which was very convenient for day trips around Iceland. Traveling in Iceland is very easy. The owner of the appartment was extremely nice and dedicated. Also much appreciated was the welcoming food basket. Overall, we had an extremely pleasant stay in Iceland. The country is really beautiful!

Iceland Holiday

Our family ( two adults and two teenagers) recently returned from a great holiday in Iceland. The apartment was light and spacious and had everything we needed. It was on the sea front and we watched some lovely sunsets from the balcony. There were shops, take aways and a few restaurants within a couple of minutes walk ( we recommend the fish kebabs at the Sea Baron, but not the fish and chip restaurant nearby). The main town was an easy five to ten minute walk away. Most excursion companies do not pick up at private apartments but the nearest pick up point is only a couple of minutes away. We booked an adventure package with Artic Adventures (who did pick us up there as a favour) and would highly recommend them.The free wi fi was made good use of by the teenagers, who took a laptop, and the phone was also useful. Any one with younger children may also like to know there is a communal garden at the back of the apartment and a small black sand beach along the sea shore to the right. We would stay here again.

Great base

Very nice place. We stayed over a week and did day trips out of town. These were easily accessed by the close-by coastal road. The rental car was good. Also it was very nice to be able to move to the centre of Reykjavik together or individually, as it was so convenient a walking distance. Some evenings and all mornings we utililized the apartment kitchen, which worked great. An almost essential thing for deciding our next trips was the Wifi-access to internet - great!

Delightful: Convenient and Comfortable

My family and I stayed in this apartment for eight days on a recent trip to Reykjavik. We found it to be very clean, well maintained, comfortable and convenient.

Pros: It is a short walk to downtown, and also right near a bus stop. It is also a very short walk to the harbor and several good places to eat (try Saegreifinn). There are several grocery stores near by, two pharmacies, a gas station and sporting goods store. Pretty much everything we needed was within a couple of blocks. The apartment itself is bright and sunny with sea views. It is well appointed. The host, Fridrick, was very friendly, accommodating and helpful. His brother helped us settled in very well and, as an extremely knowledgeable tour guide, was able to answer our questions and give us great information.

Cons: We didn't have a phone on which to make landline calls within Iceland. This isn't really a big deal if you just get yourself a prepaid SIMMs card for your own GSM phone.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience.
