The Source is positioned on the edge of the tranquil village of Veuxhaulles sur Aube bordering the Chatillonnais forests in North Burgundy. Ideally placed to discover & explore the region or relax away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life! You are welcomed with the beautiful countryside of the Aube valley with its forests and rolling hills which offer the nature lover many walks & cycling trails. You will find the vineyards of Northern Burgundy and Southern Champagne just 15 minutes away. The 1 bedroom cottage has been refurbished retaining many original features but also providing modern comforts. It has its own private south facing garden with covered outdoor dining area.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A non refundable 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking. Full payment of the total outstanding amount is payable on arrival.
  • All breakages are to be paid for and a 100 euro breakages deposit is payable on arrival and this will be returned to you at the end of your stay following inspection of the property.
  • A free grocery parcel is provided to include such essentials as milk, tea bags, coffee, sugar and toilet roll!

    Information pack on local places of interest etc available in the cottage.

    Access can be gained to the property after 4 pm on the day of arrival and you are asked to vacate the property by 10 am on the morning of departure.

    Bedding is provided free of charge by the owners to include sheets, pillowcases, duvet covers, duvets and pillows.

    Towels are not included in the price.

Notes: Large open plan salon / dining room / kitchen – from the large oak door entrance of the cottage, you are greeted with a large “Burgundy” style open salon with feature fireplace and beautiful beamed ceiling. This room provides a comfortable living area with large sofa which converts easily into a double bed providing additional sleeping, a dining area with table and chairs for 4 people and a newly fitted kitchen area. Gas oven and hob - Fridge - Kettle - Full range of tableware and cutlery - Coffee-maker - Cooking equipment & utensils - Cleaning equipment. Selection of books / videos / DVD’s / games; Television / DVD player; CD Player / Radio. Large oak French doors to the rear of the salon lead out on to the terrace and the rear garden. Oak stairs leading to first floor mezzanine bedroom – the stairs are steep and are not recommended for the infirm or young children.

How to get there: The property is ideally positioned for road, rail or air travel. It is a 4 hour drive from Calais via the A26 Calais – Reims autoroute and then onto the A5 autoroute. Leaving the A5 at junction 23, the cottage is a 15 minute drive south.

Garden: The cottage has its own rear private south facing garden with covered terrace area ideal for outdoor dining, sunbathing and relaxing. Facilities include a large garden table; Garden chairs; 2 Sun loungers; large chimney barbeque. The property has off road parking to the front of the cottage. Views to the front and rear of the cottage of the lovely surrounding countryside.

Shopping in the area: A small convenience store is within walking distance of the cottage and in the neighbouring village of Montigny-sur-Aube which is only 5 minutes away, you will find a bakery, delicatessen / butchers and pharmacy. The larger supermarkets are only a 15 minute drive at Chateauvillain or Chatillon-sur-Seine. The local bakers van passes through the village every morning delivering fresh bread.
