This is a lovely home for a family holiday, especially with children, there is a convivial farmhouse kitchen with large dining table and doors opening onto the shaded dining terrace, a split-level living room with satellite TV and DVD player, doors onto gardens, a laundry room which opens onto the rear garden and vineyards, ground floor bedroom with adjacent shower room and wc. On the first floor a master bedroom suite with views over the property's own vines and ensuite full bathroom, a further double bedroom, a twin bedroom, both with vineyard and garden views and a great children's room with four single beds, looking towards the pool. A full bathroom and wc on the first floor.

Location: Cotignac in France

Cotignac is a well-known village set in Provence Verte, with a population of just over 2000 people, featuring a famous rocher and ruined towers and with beautiful surrounding countryside teeming with vineyards producing some top-quality wines. Everything you need can be found in the village, boulangeries, butchers, fresh fish shop, epicerie, pharmacy, gift and antique shops, cafés, bars and really good restaurants, there is also a central wine cooperative. In summer there is an open air cinema, and an indoor cinema in the village centre, a packed programme of cultural activities make this a popular village year round. Ideal base for visiting the coast, the mountains, the Verdon Gorge and the numerous typical provencale villages in the surrounding area. If it wasn't such a lovely place, we wouldn't live here!

The security deposit will be refunded in full on departure provided there has been no damage to the property or breakages. In the event of damage or breakages we reserve the right to retain an equivalent amount to pay for damage or replacement of broken items.

The gardens extend to several hectares with vineyards belonging to the property, an olive grove, a lawned area to the side of the house with a large trampoline, a covered terrace at the front of the house providing a shaded dining area

What is it like?: A real taste of authentic Provence as you have read about and seen on TV! This kind of character bastide is rarely available for rental, thick walls make it retain heat in winter but remain cool in summer for a comfortable year-round experience. The pool area is slightly elevated giving a superb over vineyards and unspoilt countryside. The interior of the house is traditional with all modern comforts provided whilst respecting the original features and charm.

What can I do?: If sitting by the pool and sipping rosé on your terrace isn't enough we can provide you with in house chefs to cater for your every whim... ... if you feel the need to explore you will need a car, the bastide is just over 3km from Cotignac village, but you can easily get to the mountains, the resorts have activities in summer as well as skiing in winter, there are lots of villages in the area worth a visit, the coast is within an hour and if wine is your thing you will find a huge choice of domaines and chateaux ready to open their doors for your to sample their wares. Lots of artists of all kinds have made their home in Provence so you will be spoilt for choice across the whole range of tastes and budgets.
