The barn is a country-lovers dream, where old oak timbers mix sympathetically with green oak to form a fantastic living space with a massive inglenook fireplace and where the galleried landing looks down on the comfy settees near a friendly wood burner and next to a spacious dining area and newly fitted oak kitchen. There are three beautiful double bedrooms with full en-suite facilities. One with bath and two with shower. There is an additional folding guest bed or cot for children. Step outside onto your barn patio where you are surrounded by open fields and views complemented by the newly restored farm buildings, including a picturesque stable block with clock tower. A 3 minute stroll takes you into Ewhurst village where you will find pubs serving food, shops & village sports facilities. The old parish church adds to the feeling of history you sense when visiting. Ewhurst also has a cricket club and Hurtwood Country Polo Club. Guildford, Cranleigh & pictureque Shere are nearby.

Thornhurst Brook Farm is situated in the pretty village of Ewhurst in the Surrey Hills a perfect base to enjoy the labyrinth of country walks and bridleways. If you like trekking, mountain biking or riding, you will be spoiled for choice. You will also find tennis, a children playground and a bowling green just a short stroll from your accommodation, or why not time your visit to coincide with a polo match at the Hurtwood Park Polo Club. England's largest vineyard, Denbies, offers a wine tasting tour and leisurely lunch at Dorking, where you will also find an array of antique shops, pretty boutiques and coffee shops. Why not visit picture-postcard Shere where you can drop back in time and see how our villages used to be. You will find a blacksmiths, teashop, pubs, museum and a much photographed church. Notes: Wireless Broadband is available in the barn, to use it you will require your computer to be set up for wireless. Underfloor heating on the ground floor means the barn is maintained at a controlled temperature, so you can put your feet up with a good book and a glass of wine next to the wood burner without a care in the world. The kitchen is equipped with a dual fueled range which has an electric oven and gas rings, you will also have a microwave oven, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge freezer at your disposal. With regard to wheelchair access, the property does not have ramps, but the wheelchair can enter the property relatively easily. Once in, there are no steps to the bathrooms or bedrooms.

What an amazing place! So much love has been put into every detail of the decor, every bit as good as or better than a 5 star hotel.

Stunning location with plenty of walks in the beautiful surrounding area. Situated so close to London this is an excellent alternative to staying in the city.

The owners extended such hospitality making every effort to make us feel welcome and at home. This really was a home away from home. We certainly intend to return. Highly recommended!
Owner's Response: Amanda and Mark really enjoyed the stunning country setting around the barn. They found it easy getting to London and Guildford. They were perfect tenants and together with their parents, took maximum advantage of the pubs and restaurants that we were able to recommend.

The Surrey Hills are full of beautiful walks and local places to visit, including Dorking where you can lose yourself in the antique shops, or step into Denbies Winery where you will find that English wines can be well worth the time to taste.

Mark and amanda took full advantage of the huge lounge and our newly fitted kitchen, and with the enourmous bi-fold doors they were able to extend the kitchen lounge onto the patio.

In short, they were great to have in the property, and we look forward to welcoming them back.

Stunning Barn

I rented this amazing converted barn for my best friends Hen weekend. When we arrived and walked into the barn, it was breath taking..the whole place was stunning with a warm, homely atmosphere. I couldn't believe my luck in finding such a beautiful place to celebrate such a special occasion..it was perfect..I'm very picky but it was just perfect!!!!
I would & will recommend this barn to all my friends & if an occasion arises again, I would definately book again.
The owner is very friendly and more than helpful during our stay. It's just lovely!
Owner's Response: Phillipa and her friends made good use of the local facities. They test drove a new pub restaurant in Shere, and as we supected the restaurant feedback was good.

Thornhurst Brook Farm is surrounded with an excellent choice of country pubs and restaurants.

Phillipa and her friends also explored the lake and fields in our surrounding farmland, where it is possible to walk in very tranquil surroundings.

The girls seemed to have a fantastic time and were amazed at how much better the barn was than it appeared in the photos on the web site. They were very appreciative of the little extras that we like to provide our renters and we would be pleased to have them back any time.

The photos of this Barn do not do it justice, it is a glorious tranquil, beautifully furnished, comfortable and wonderful place in a fantastic setting. I have just returned from spending two great days with six of us on a Hen weekend and we could not have found a better place to have fun and relax in. The weather let us down for the first day but that did not spoil our time there and we had a picnic outside the tall french windows on the second. The property is beautifully maintained and well equipped for guests - the fridge was stocked with essentials which was a lovely surprise and the owner was welcoming and attentive when we required it. It was a memorable break and I really hope I will be able to return.

Beautiful Conversion

The owners have done an excellent job at converting the barn into a beautiful holiday rental. The pictures do not do the interior justice!

The masterpiece of the barn is the stylish, well thought out and well equipped kitchen area with its huge range (no picture on holidayrental.co.uk yet!) We cooked a hot Sunday lunch for 12 and it was a breeze.

We had glorious weather whilst in Ewhurst and had the living area floor to ceiling glass doors open throughout the day and the patio instantly became an extension of the living space in the barn. Beautiful.

The owners who also live on site are extremely friendly and keen that their guests enjoy their stay. They were attentive without being imposing and were always available to help with requests that we had.
Owner's Response: Fantastic family who opened up the floor to ceiling bi-fold doors to extend the living area into the garden and really enjoy the patio and surrounding country setting. In addition, other members of the family took advantage of the close proximity to London to attend a wedding. Hope to welcome them back again soon.
