To be honest i was extremelly nervous booking a villa for myself and my friends through a website, i was the organiser and would be blammed if anything went wrong, e.g i saw on tv recently about people loosing their holidays because the holiday homes they were booked into fell through, but overworrying was an understatement.
From the start being in contact with Natalie (one of the owners)was great, she was so helpful and understanding, gave advice on flights, were to go,any extras (food or drink) we wanted stocked up for when we arrived and even organised the taxi transferes from the airport.
Konnas Bay is just a 5 min walk away and the most beautiful beach in Cyprus,Protaras strip is a 20 min walk away but regular bus and taxi service from right outside the villa with local news agent type shops along the way open till as late as 3am if not all night.
On Protaras strip all the main shops, restaurants and bars/clubs (Ayia Napa a 15 min bus ride away is worth visiting especially for the water park, take the local bus and save a taxi fare as only 1.50 euro and the bus ticket gives you a discount to the water park, but you can get everything you need right in Protaras and we only visited Ayia Napa once the whole trip) In Protaras get a really fabulous traditional Greek night at Romeo's restaurant, order the traditional Mesi meal and enjoy greek dancing, belly dancing,a man balancing 10 glasses of water,2 plant pots and a bottle of beer on his head and great greek music, very worth the money.
A real must is the day boat trip 20 euros for a whole day on a boat, pick up from the paramount hotel just down the street from the villa, enjoy the views upto Greco national park and then cliff diving with instructors, swimming stops in the sea, snorkling and a scuba diving lesson,a BBQ lunch and a trip upto the Farmagusta region and to see the ghost town, i cant stress how much we all enjoyed this day, one of the real highlights for us, at the scuba diving stop there is also a chance to pay for parasailing (first time i've done it and it was one of the best life experiances i've had)You can book this trip from the travel shop next to the bakery, bake my day at the far end of the strip. They also do a day trip to the main city of Nicosia and the Troodos mountains (i went on this by myself, very picturesque views but alot of time spent on the coach)A better option might be to hire a car.Definetely hire out a buggie or riding bike to get a better taste of exploring Cyprus.
