This exceptional top floor apartment with stunning river views has 2 bedrooms, a good sized open-plan living/dining room with quality bed settee (sleeps 2) a small, furnished balcony overhanging the Thames, quality fitted kitchen, and 2 shower rooms (one ensuite). As the owners second home it is furnished to a very high standard. Globe Wharf is a prestigious conversion of a former, 160 year old, listed rice warehouse which is located in Rotherhithe between Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. Rotherhithe is steeped in maritime history being right on the Thames within the historic Pool of London. It was from Rotherhithe village that the Mayflower set sale for the New World in 1620 and the famous Mayflower pub with its riverside terrace is only five minutes walk from the apartment. Despite its close location to the centre of London, this desirable riverside residential area is a haven of peace and tranquility which offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Rotherhithe is on the South bank of the Thames between Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. There is a choice of buses within 2 minutes walk which take you to central London or provide connections for the Jubilee and Northern lines or Docklands Light Railway. It is a 10 minutes walk to the connecting ferry to Canary Wharf which links to the Thames Clipper waterbus into central London or to the historic Greenwich naval village, home of Nelson. A leisurely 20 minutes walk along the Thames Path will take you to Tower Bridge. Across the road is a well-stocked local grocers store, a gastro-pub and good Chinese and Indian restaurants. In addition to the Mayflower pub, the famous riverside pubs of The Grapes and Gordon Ramsay’s, The Narrow are just over the water. Canary Wharf offers a plethora of excellent restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and budgets. At Canada Water there are a wide range of shops, a Tesco’s superstore (open 24/7), a multi-screen cinema and bowling alley.

Historic Docklands/Tower of London/ Southbank/

We really appreciated being able to come back to a quiet, relaxing view over the Thames after being out in a busy city, with no traffic within sight or sound. We were able to have a romantic drink in the evening on the balcony, watching the lights and boats. We loved the historic 10 minute river walkway from the apartment to one of the oldest Dickensian London pub restaurants and the short walk to the Hilton to get the 2 minute ferry ride to the heart of Docklands with it's cobblestone harbour, sailing ships and eateries. We loved being close to the buzz of Bermondsey, the beauty of historical Tower Bridge and not too far from all the entertainment of The South Bank. We needed the parking space provided underground, but it was also good to have the tube within walking distance too.
The beautiful exposed brickwork walls within this historic renovated docklands building provided warmth and character and were complimented by the clean modern furnishings. It was lovely and quiet and great to have an ensuite as well as another bathroom. It was also useful to have a concierge service and use of the small pool and gym. An all round fantastic experience. Thank you.

We had a great time here! Wonderful neighborhood, great access to the bus and tube. It was a fantastic view of London. Our family of 5 people really enjoyed it. I recommend this flat for people who want to enjoy a real London experience!

The apartment was simply wonderful. :)
Great location. Amazing interior and living space and updated appliances! A must for anyone who wants to see London, but have a quiet getaway at night!
Perfect view of the Thames at night. Perfect living space, especially with 2 little kids.
Even the pub across the street served great food and the bus service was easy and fast! The concierge made entry/exit easy. The lifts were a help with the baggage we had.
I highly recommend this apartment for any family (or non-family) who wants it all!

I stayed at the apartment during summer, 2008 for a month. The modern interior with original features provides a relaxing base not far from the centre of the city. The views from the lounge look over the city and at night you can admire the buzzing city whilst sitting back with the water below. The bedrooms have quality bedding and newly fitted carpets whilst both bathrooms are very stylish with great quality fittings and large mirrors. The artwork on the walls, decoration and lighting used throughout alongside the exposed brick and structural beams are stunning and give the apartment a special feel which, especially at night, is very atmospheric. There are a number of nice places to have a drink or something to eat nearby with boats regularly crossing further down the river to even more choice. The property was very clean and there was a weekly cleaning service. I would love to stay here again!
