This new luxury first floor apartment is south facing and is located in a quiet conservation area in the historic market town of Kendal close to all local amenities, and is well situated for exploring the Lakes. Allocated private parking is provided. The apartment is very well equipped with good quality furnishings and offers a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. Consisting of the following rooms: Hallway, Large tastefully decorated true Lounge/Diner incorporating comfortable seating for four people, dining table and four chairs, Panasonic Viera TV/DVD and CD player, large patio doors leading out on to the Balcony where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine with a sunny aspect and views of Kendal Castle and beyond. There is a separate high spec kitchen fully equipped with all modern conveniences. The good sized bathroom has a bath with overhead power shower and a large storage cupboard. There are 2 Bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds and Bedroom 2 has 1 double bed.

A great location on the edge of town. The popular market town of Kendal effortlessly combines the cosmopolitan with the traditional. There's also a great choice of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and pubs all within a few minutes walking distance. Within a radius of just a few hundred metres of Drysalter's there is a convenience store/newsagent, DVD rental shop, off licence, a popular gym/spa and a super laundry shop, Kendal Museum, Quaker Tapestry exhibition, art galleries and plenty of wonderful walks around the old town. Kendal railway station, where the local train service runs from early morning to late at night for visits to Windermere, also the Main Coast Line. There is a direct link to Manchester Airport which takes approximately 90 minutes. The Lake District National Park is only 3 miles away and there are lots of day trips and things to explore including the Beatrix Potter exhibition and her original home and the Lakeland Steamers to view the Lakes in all their glory.

  • DEPOSITS: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, which will be deducted from the total cost. Bookings are not confirmed until the deposit has been received. BALANCE: The balance must be received 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the rental period (or at the time of booking, if within 8 weeks). A breakage / damages deposit of £100 per rental period to be received along with the balance, this being refundable within 7 days of the end of the rental period, subject to there being no damage or breakages. The property is booked from 2pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day of departure (this can be negotiable, but time is required to allow for cleaning and preparation for new arrivals). Linen and Towels are provided, and a cleaning service once per week is also included, if rented for 7 nights or more.
  • Please Note: There are no additional charges for the linen provided and no utility charges.

There is a spacious bath including fixtures and fittings from Gustavsberg (Villeroy & Boch Company) with an overhead shower. Light sunny aspect with good lighting and large mirror. A large separate storage cupboard is available in the bathroom for hanging robes, wash bags etc. Large towel rail above the bath allows for easy access to towels whilst bathing/ showering, a heated towel rail is also available. Towels are provided along with Molton Brown toiletries.

Notes: The apartment is situated on the first floor and is not suitable for unsupervised young children. Therefore, children under the age of eight are not permitted as the apartment is not equipped with child safety features. There is one flight of stairs which are very wide with easy access but unsuitable for guests with walking difficulties. The car parking space is adjacent to the property and is situated within a private cul de sac alongside the landscaped gardens. A second parking space can be agreed if required at the time of booking for guests arriving with more than one car.

Sporting Activities: There are two golf courses within a few minutes drive, Kendal Golf Club and Carus Green Golf Club, alternatively there is Windermere Golf club which is approximately a 15 minute drive. Afull set of mens and a half set of ladies clubs are available for use from the owners of the apartment. Please advise upon booking. Pitch and Putt is available at the park which is a two minute walk from the apartment. There is also a Dry Ski Slope within walking distance for the more energetic Autumn/Winter. There are swimming/ spa facilities at the hotel located round the corner from the apartment. Horse riding is available in the village of Natland a five minute drive away. Cycling paths are available throughout the Lake District. Grizedale forest is a great day out for the more energetic whether it be walking or cycling there is something for everyone. For all other sporting facilities further details can be found in the folder in the apartment.

Where to Go in Kendal and The Lakes: A detailed programme of events is available for viewing in the apartment. (Please, contact owner for more information). There are weekly markets that take place every Wednesday and Saturday in the market place together with a special Farmers Market which proves very popular and this is staged every last Friday of the month. Brewery Arts Centre is a good venue for live concerts, cinema, restaurant and outside entertainment. Kendal is also home to the Quaker Tapestry Exhibition, Abbot Hall Art Gallery, K Shoes and the famous Kendal Mint Cake. Wordworth's homes Dove Cottage Grasmere and Rydal Mount are approximately a 30 minute drive away. Beatrix Potters house at Hill Top in Sawrey. Also, the Beatrix Potter Exhibition in Bowness is a great experience. Blackwell Arts & Craft Home between Bowness and Newby Bridge. John Ruskin's beautiful home at Brantwood Coniston. On Lake coniston ride the Gondola steamboat and visit the Donald Campbell Museum.

Eating Out: Kendal is known for it's many restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, deli's, bars, one of the best pubs in town is just around the corner from the apartment. There is also an excellent choice of takeaway food for those wishing to relax at home after a long days walking/cycling.

From first contacting Caroline to find out about availability, she was prompt in her response by telephone and email. This immediately gave us confidence we were making the right decision in choosing this fantastic apartment.

Caroline's attention to detail is perfect, with everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. On arrival, Caroline greeted and welcomed us to her apartment which is furnished to a very high standard with high quality furnishing and immacuately clean. Caroline gave some first class suggestions of local places of interest and suggestions of where we may like to visit, whilst giving good tips of valuable information.

The only regret we have is not arranging a longer stay - the location is excellent for easy access to Kendal and Lake District.

Myself, husband and two children had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and are looking forward to booking another holiday next week for a longer stay.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.

We had a very warm welcome from Caroline, to a beautiful apartment. It was modern, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, full of everything that you need and more. It is ideally situated and safe, both for walking into town (5 minutes) or ambling along the river and it doesn't take long in the car before you are walking alongside beautiful Lakes. The Railway Station is just 5 minutes walk away.
Caroline went out of her way to do everything just to make our stay enjoyable.
We had a great time - many thanks from Wales.

Our impresssions of our stay at the apartment

We spent a very comfortable six nights at this apartment in Kendal. The weather was wet for part of each day we were in the Lake District. However, this did not detract from our holiday and were able to get out and about to explore the lakes and historic buildings. It was great to return to comfortable accomodation of a high standard.

One of the things were really appreciated was the stock of basic household items, such as washing up liquid, and things like salt, pepper, butter etc. The beds were comfortable as were all the furnishings. We felt welcomed by the owner and knew that if there were any problems that we could contact her and she would deal with them.

Kendal is a very interesting town to explore, with an art gallery, a small independednt cinema, theatre and places of historic interest. During the period we were staying they held their 'Minfest' and we watched street theatre and music at The Brewery Arts Centre. We would stay at this property again if we revisited the Lake District.

Caroline Hodgson did us proud.
She was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the Kendal town and main amenaties so that we could find our way around and make ourselves at home.
We had a wonderful stay in her tastily furnished, well equipped, immaculately clean, well designed new apartment.
Kendal is such a good place to stay. You have all the advantages of an interesting rural town with all it has to offer what ever the weather. You also have ready access to all the beautiful places that make the Lake District the most attractive place in England to visit. Individuals and local authorities have done a great deal to make it atrractive and convenient for visitors.
My family and I greatly enjoyed our stay.

i spent a lovely time in this pretty apartment with my family. almost everything we need was there.the location was very good,we couldn,t ask for a better one.the owner was very friendly .she helped us alot.thank you very much caroline we will never forget you,and thank you for every thing.we strongly recommend this apartment.
