Situated in the middle of the Tropical Valley surrounded by mountains, with avocado, mango,nispero & cherimoya trees, Otivar is well placed to visit the wonderful coastal towns of Almunecar, Salobrena & La Herradura with their unspoilt & historic real Spain charm. There are well marked walking routes in the Sierras Almijara, Tejeda & Pena Escrita National Parks & a short drive will bring you to Los Dos Rios, a stunning river with waterfalls and lagoons to swim in.The historic city of Granada, the Alhambra Palace, and skiing in the Sierra Nevada are all within a 50 min drive. Otivar (still has working donkeys) has a pharmacy, banks with cash points, bakeries, supermarket, shops and a local market on Thursdays. Bars & Restaurants serve free tapas with your drinks. Recommend, Bar Madera, Buena Vista and the renowned Capriccios that all have excellent menus & fantastic views. A municipal pool with terraces,sun beds & bar. Almunecar has a Aqua Park with wave pools & slides a good day out
