Situated in Saas Fee, 'The Pearl of the Alps', Hummel is a freestanding wooden chalet. The village is car free, exceptionally family friendly, and is visually stunning with 'chocolate box' wooden houses, 4000m peaks and the Fee glacier. The chalet will sleep 6, has 2 double bedrooms, fitted kitchen, dining area, living area with sofa bed, flat screen TV and DVD player, baby gate and high chair. Hummel is situated at the sunny end of the village and 10-15 minutes walk from the lifts, (5 mins in the free electric shuttles), and 5 mins walk from Bars, shops and restaurants. In Winter there are 100km+ of pistes from 2500-3500m - the altitude guarantees great snow. The kids snow clubs are excellent, with full creche facilities, baby sitting and managed activities. For non skiers or during the Summer months there is tons to do from Spa days, swimming, tennis, golf, hiking, mountain biking, canyoning & wildlife trails, or for the steely the forest adventure park with zip line over the gorge.

Saas Fee, is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful villages in the Alps. Surrounded by 13 4000m peaks, and the Fee Glacier. The village oozes Swiss charm; with narrow streets lined with old chalets, traditional barns & Seton stones. The village is car free, exceptionally family friendly, and has tons to do, with a great selection of restaurants, bars, shops and activities that cater for all ages and abilities. There are summer and winter crèche and babysitting facilities, and an awesome ski school. For those wanting to venture further afield, Saas Fee is also ideally placed to visit local attractions, ie Zermatt and the Matterhorn and the natural spa and springs at Leukerbad.

Ski: Hummel is 15-20 Mins WALK from the main ski area. If you don't fancy walking there is a free shuttle that takes approximately 5 minutes from door to piste. In Winter you can ski between 2500 and 3500m altitude, this guarantees great snow on approximately 100Km + of prepared pistes. Pistes cater for all levels from beginner to expert, with a great mix for boarders (2 snow parks) and skiers alike. If you have kids - there are 2 kids only snow parks that take children from the age of 3 (check with schools first), instruction is first class, secure and fun. Kids courses are available either, hourly half day or full day - all classes are accompanied at all times, and there are crèche or nanny services if you need it. Not to be missed, Saas Fee has its own mountain set aside for Tobogganing, using a pre-prepared 8 km run, that's even open at night. If you aren't a skier, there's still tons to do with 30Km of marked winter trails, Spas, swimming, restaurants and some great shops.

I stayed at this chalet in February last year, with my husband and 2 young children.
The property was very well maintained and had a lovely modern/rustic style.
I particularly liked the peaceful location, and the beautiful area.
There is a bus 2 minutes walk away, that takes you to the nursery and the ski lifts.
There are quite a few restaurants nearby.
I would definitely stay again.
