Recently renovated 120 sq. m. flat with a private garden in the centre of Barcelona on Calle Balmes (between Calle Provença and Calle Mallorca). Sleeps 6. 3 double bedrooms, bathrooms with WC, separate shower room with WC, sitting room, dining room, galleria overlooking 30sq. m. garden, fully equipped kitchen. High ceilings and original mosaic & painted tiled floors. Very close to the restaurants and shops of Example in Central Barcelona, near Paseo de Gracia. Family & business friendly. Hi speed Internet access (WIFI) and DVD with 32' flat screen TV. Central heating and air conditioning. English speaking babysitter on request. Highchair, cot, box of toys, videos and children’s books on request. 2 minute walk to Provença station and a 5 minute train ride down to Plaza Cataluña. The Garden Flat is on Calle Balmes in between Calle Provença and Calle Mallorca in the heart of the Eixample district in Central Barcelona. It is 5 minutes away from the restaurants, shops and Antoni Gaudi´s architectural masterpieces: Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. For an excellent lunch at reasonable prices try Tragaluz which is 5 minutes away. For top tapas, head to Taller de Tapas in Rambla Catalunya- again a 5 minute walk away. The flat is 2 minutes walk from Provença train station which has frequent trains running down to Plaça Catalunya which sits at the top of Las Ramblas (this takes 5 minutes). There is a lift from street level both at Provença station and Plaça Catalunya.10 minutes walk away is Paseo de Gracia train station which has trains to and from the airport. Also, if you fancy a trip to the beach outside of the city, in half an hour you are in Castelldefels or Sitges to the south.Or just pop down to Barceloneta on the metro and you´ll be on Barcelona beach in 15 mins

Notes: The flat has recently undergone a renovation to a high standard: we have put in new bathrooms and kitchen, and kept as many of the original Modernista (or Art Nouveau) features as we could or sourced original replacements from all over Catalunya- the garden is real treat in the centre of Barcelona. We've just replanted it and added a small selection of herbs - so you can pick your own if you feel like cooking.

Recent guest´s comments: We had a great time, returning to one of our favourite cities with our four daughters- your flat is lovely, an oasis of calm right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Barcelona. You have done an fantastic job in renovating it, and it was a bonus having the garden to sit in, and for the kids to let off a bit of steam! Having the metro nearby meant that getting around wasn't a hassle and we felt safe at night, wandering around and trying out the various tapas bars. Garden Flat in central Barcelona

On our recent short trip to Barcelona, we stayed in The Garden Flat on Carrer de Balmes. It is a recently renovated old Spanish flat, situated in the Eixample area of Barcelona. All the old floor tiles are still intact and the walls are plainly painted white, giving it a very fresh feel. If you are looking for an alternative to the usual hotels, this fits the bill. It is very centrally located, 5 minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia.
The flat is surprisingly quiet for the centre of town and has a lovely little garden at the back, that is relaxing to look out on to when you return from a day's sight-seeing.
It was clean and had a separate shower room and bathroom, which was very useful with four of us staying there. The beds are very comfortable and there is a small, fully fitted kitchen. However, there are so many delis and restaurants around the location that we only used it for making tea and chilling cava!
We found a great tapas bar round the corner on Calle Majorca called Cervezeria de Catalunia - fantastic atmosphere and a choice of hot and cold tapas that you choose from a counter, or you can sit at a table at the back if you fancy waiting as it was very popular with the locals
Definitely a place we would come back to stay.
