The town is renowned as an ideal centre for an activity holiday in the summer and a ski holiday in the winter. In the summer, visitors enjoy diverse activities from tennis and swimming in the Olympic size pool to downhill biking on the surrounding mountains. In winter the skiing is amongst the best in the world Morzine being at the heart of the Portes du Soleil Ski area. Both ski lifts are 200m walk away. Despite its popularity it retains the traditional charm of a French market town. It's just a short drive (1 hour) from Geneva with its lake and international airport. Local taxi service available.

Morzine is one of the closest and most accessible alpine resorts to the UK - on the Route des Grandes Alpes and in the middle of the vast skiing area of the Portes du Soleil with 650 km of pistes and over 218 lifts. A fine centre for summer and winter holidays thanks to its splendid mountain setting and the wide and exciting range of summer sports both in the village and surrounding area. Walkers have numerous marked paths and fine alpine scenery. There are 2 outdoor swimming pools, horse riding stables, archery, tennis courts, volleyball courts and a basketball court in the village centrally located near the Palais des Sports. Morzine is a Mecca for mountain biking and paragliding and international events (ice skating, Tour de France). The lift system is equipped to carry equipment to higher slopes and ridges. Rafting and canoeing centres are within easy access plus the beautiful Lac Montriond. Excellent ski schools. Skiing, Nordic tracks and snow boarding for all levels.
