You'll soon feel at home in our very clean and cosy Scandinavian style lodge set high on a hillside. Up to 4 adults can enjoy the comfort of our lodge in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin-bedded room (cot available). You'll find 2 comfortable sofas, a TV with DVD and video, free WiFi Internet access, quality duvets with electric blankets, a private balcony with patio doors and bird feeder, bathroom with power shower and bath, spotless kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, table and chairs for 4, Patio doors and private balcony with bird feeder. Central heating. Quality bed linen and fluffy towels provided. Free use of washing machine and tumble drier. Dogs welcome (fenced dog exercise area). The Lodge is situated half a mile south of the A839 which connects Lairg to the A9. It is almost equidistant from the West Coast, North Coast and Inverness. Close by there are many walks through the wild and unspoilt countryside, the Nature Reserve of Loch Fleet famed for its wildfowl and osprey. Dunrobin Castle with its falconry displays is only minutes away, trout fishing lochs abound, seals can be seen at Embo, dolphins in the Moray Firth and the salmon can be viewed leaping at the Falls of Shin. For the more energetic there is horse-riding, hillwalking,golf at Dornoch and Brora and mountain-bike riding. Day trips can be made to the Orkneys and Handa Island bird sanctuary, Cape Wrath and Durness with its famed connection to John Lennon.

How to get there: Finding the lodge is easy. About 1 hour north of Inverness. Either drive straight up the A9 to the Mound (osprey and wildfowl) or take the plane to Inverness ( Easy jet fly there) and hire a car at the airport. There's even a train station about 2 miles away (Rogart) but it is a request stop !

In the area: When you're not just gazing out of the windows at the glen and hills with the mountains in the background, you migh try some golden eagle or wildlife spotting (binoculars provided), mountain-biking on the Wildcat trails, climbing the local Ben Bhraggie, sampling Glenmorangie, wandering down a deserted beach or exploring a local castle. Spend an afternoon visiting Dornoch cathedral (of Madonna fame), trying out the local ice cream and watching salmon leap at the Falls of Shin( of Mohamed al-Fayed fame!)One of the great things about this location is the fact that you can make a day trip not just to Inverness and the Black isle with its dolphins, but also to the North Coast or over to the West.

The owners: You don't have to worry about getting a key for the lodge. We are usually there to help. German and French are spoken.
