Central London, luxury self catering apartment, sleeps 4 people, situated in historic Clerkenwell 5 minutes walk from the world famous St Paul's Cathedral. The apartment is located in the fashionable area of Clerkenwell, between the West End and London’s financial district, known as The City. It is like Soho, with bustling street life & fascinating bars and award winning restaurants including St John, Club Gascon & Smiths. The apartment is a short distance from the Barbican, St Paul’s, Holborn, Covent Garden, the Tower of London, the Bank of England, the theatres of the West End, Shakespeare's Globe and The Tate Modern. The apartment has excellent transport links, three tubes stations and the rail link for Luton and Gatwick airports all within 5 minutes walk. Kings Cross for the Eurostar is a 10 minute taxi journey away. The apartment has two bedrooms (one en-suite) a main bathroom, fully fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave and living/dining area with TV and DVD.

The apartment is located by the famous Smithfield Market adjacent to the oldest church in London, St Bartholomew the Great and minutes from St Paul's Cathedral and the River Thames. Driving really isn't necessary as you have many transport options including St Paul's, Barbican and Farringdon underground stations (tube) all within five minutes walk! Lots of buses stop close by and take you all over London. All major airports are within a 45 min transfer time and London City Airport is even closer on the Docklands Light railway. Being located in one of the most fashionable districts of London guests have the option of dining at awarding winning restaurants but there are places to suit all tastes and budgets within walking distance. In the event that you are not tempted by the array of restaurants there are 3 supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. As for evening entertainment, there are several bars and clubs to choose from so you will spoilt for choice.

Shopping: London has some of the best shopping in the world and a week is certainly not long enough! Whether you are coming for a girly weekend or a spot of Christmas shopping the apartment is ideally located within easy reach of the shops and boutiques of Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly, Bond Street, Sloane Street, Knightsbridge and the Kings Road. The huge department store Selfridges is 15 minutes away and Harrods and Harvey Nichols are 20-25 minutes. Excellent street markets can be found at Spittalfields, Camden and Portobello Road to name but a few. More interesting and less touristy shopping destinations include Marylebone High Street and St Christopher's Place which are both located just off Oxford Street and Westbourne Grove.

Thank you Rachel for allowing us to stay in your lovely apartment. It was quiet, very comfortable and just as described. We had a wonderful week in London and went to lots of tourist spots thanks to the central location of the apartment. There is a good Tourist Information centre opposite St. Pauls which allowed us to plan our days ahead. Buses and trains close by and easy to use. We went to 2 West End shows which were great. The welcome pack was handy and we had no trouble finding good places to eat out at. We loved our time in London and look forward to returning. Highly recommend your apartment for comfort, location and value.

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for a week in september 2009. We live in the Netherlands. Our two sons came over for the weekend. We had a lovely stay. Rachel was very friendly and everything was well organised. The apartment is in a very central position, the tube is nearby , shops and great pubs just a few minutes away. Rachel made a very helpful welcome pack with all the useful information about shops, restaurants, etc. Next to the apartment is St Bartholomew church, a beautiful old church, which gives you a historic feeling every time you go in or out the building. For our two grown up sons the second double bed was a bit small, but there was another single bed which we used.
In short: we felt at home and had a comfortable base for exploring London.

Wonderful apartment, fabulous location

Rachel, thank you so much for a wonderful stay! The apartment is furnished to a very high standard, spotless, quiet and incredibly comfortable. The location could not be better - some great little pubs right around the corner and so close to the tube, but an easy walk into town to take in the sights.
Will definitely recommend to any friends in Australia who are seeking accommodation in Central London!
