The location of this property is second to none. The small village has a great little shop which sells delicious ice cream. Owls skim the sand dunes just outside the villa at twilight. The beach is fabulous and only a minutes walk away. The fields at the rear of the property are full of wildlife. The next village to the North, has a great farm shop selling their own produce and meat. The layout of the villa however is rather different. The listing does not make it clear that two of the bedrooms are accessed through the master bedroom, which meant our party of 9 could not use all six bedrooms. The promised facilities did not materialise. Hot tub not working, all 3 showers leaked, all 3 toilet seats were loose and badly worn, the cooker hood lights were broken as was the grill (substitute was provided) Generally the place is not well maintained, which is a shame because it wouldn't take much to make it great. Apart from replacing a few lightbulbs, the owners response to our complaints, was that it was the end of the season and that was that! We paid full high season price so expected value for our money. Overall, this owner has been difficult to deal with, I never did receive a contract, which is unusual. I have been using Holiday rentals for several years and have always been very happy until now. I understand the running of this property is now handled by the owners daughter so maybe things will improve. I hope so, because this property has a lot to offer. It's just all a bit 'tired' at the moment.
Owner's Response: We are extremely disappointed with our last review. The customer on arrival of 30th August 2009 checked every room and scrutinised the whole property as they informed us that they had been dispointed with past holiday rentals. In reponse to the layout of the villa we have had many large parties and no issue has been drawn to our attention which the location of the rooms, this is a perfect family space. The Hot Tub however was out of our hands as we were waiting for a quilified engineer to fix it. The customer did send an email in the early hours of the morning (1am) to complaine that there were light bulbs out in the kitchen which we responed first thing, on which she appolgised for the drunken email and confirmed there was no real problems and was greatful for our quick response.
We feel our villa is maintained to a high standard and have only had praise from our previous customers. All of our customers recieve a Terms and Conditions contact. The price that they paid was the seasonal price for the booked dates. On arrival they then informed us that they had additional guests staying to celebrate a Birthday which we where not notified on booking of this and they did not recieve any additonal costs for this.
We feel this customer was extremly hard to please. We found that we have pleased 99% of our customers as we have had many repeat booking.
