Notes: The spacious apartment is the on the first floor of a purpose build building established by a painter/decorator in 1899. It has been completely renovated in 2007. The apartment now comprises a comfortable lounge, with sofa bed if required, a large family kitchen/ dining room and a luxury bathroom. There are three bedrooms; the master bedroom is a double with an en-suite bathroom at the front of the apartment and the two twin bedrooms are situated at the rear with country views. The second of the twin bedrooms is accessed from the lounge. The fully enclosed back garden has a large patio area with garden furniture, a barbeque and a small grassed area. A shed is available for bike storage if required. Off-road parking at the back of the apartment is possible via a lane at the side of the building.

Golf: Edzell Golf course is within walking distance of Oakbank and with its tranquil setting in the foothills of the Grampians, offering fine views at every corner of the course, it offers an unforgettable experience. Indeed the mountains form a backdrop to this lovely 18-hole, par 71,heathland/parkland course. It is generally viewed as a hidden gem amongst golf courses and should not be missed. In addition it has a 9-hole course and a floodlit driving range with practise greens and bunkers. The Club prides itself in the welcome offered to visitors. The Club retains a qualified P.G.A. Professional, Alastair Webster. His shop is fully stocked and offers a full range of clothing and equipment. Tuition is available seven days a week. Edzell is a perfect base to sample some of the many great courses in the neighbourhood; Carnoustie, Royal Aberdeen, Royal Montrose, Rosemount and even St. Andrews and Kingsbarns are all within driving range. To ease the cost of playing why not look into 'greensavers' or 'twoforone' vouchers which can halve the price of your round of golf. Another great way to play superb courses is to play in 'open' golf events. Check out the 'wee yellow book' which lists most open competitions around Scotland. You will need a handicap and to pre-register but the costs would only be £10-£20 per round. Oakbank is part of the Visit Scotland 'Welcome Golfers' scheme ensuring that all facilities for golfers are catered for. So why not come and try for yourself.

stunning apartment in great location

We stayed for 3 nights in September, 4 adults and two children. Without doubt one of the nicest accomodations any of us have ever rented. The presentation was immaculate, modern and fresh however retaining some original features. The dining room and kitchen are huge and we spent a lot of time in this room as it was so comfortable. Garden to the rear is small but the children enjoyed a few games. If you are planning to travel in Eastern/Northern Scotland then this would make an ideal location. Many sites of interest within 50 miles and the village itself is very friendly and interesting. The welcome pack with groceries was an added bonus we didn't expect and it was a lovely welcome to the home. Thoroughly recommend this flat and the owners were very helpful prior to arrival with directions etc
Owner's Response: Our aim is to provide "Comfort in the Glens", it is fantastic to hear from our guests that we are on the right track!
However there is always room for improvement and we love to hear where we can add value and comfort for our guests. Unfortunately we cannot increase the size of the garden but there is a fantastic play park just up the road.
