The Villa Balcon del Mar is set in a stunning position above the whitewashed village of Competa, with spectacular views over the village, the mountains, and the coast from Malaga Bay in the west to Nerja in the east. As the sun begins to set, you feel that you could almost touch the peaks of Africa's` Riff Mountains to the south. A truly magical view. The villa is situated on the hillside at the start of the National Park, with the Sierra Almijara behind, and is less than a mile from the village. An ideal base from which to explore the area, walk in the hills, or just relax by the pool ( or Sauna). The Villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms ( 1 ensuite), lounge with log burner for winter evenings, fully fitted kitchen, conservatory and dining room, and is fully air conditioned. Outside there are a number of terraces, BBQ, swimming pool and sauna. Private parking and enclosed gardens. We are registered with the Andalucia Consejeria de Turismo Reference MA / 00535

The village of Competa is set at the foot of the Sierra Almijara, the snow capped range of mountains between Malaga & Granada, that stretch down to the warm Mediterranean. The village six hundred and fifty metres above sea level and from its flower bedecked streets and plazas there are spectacular views of sea, countryside and mountains. It is still an active and hard working agricultural town which makes an important contribution to the industry of the province with abundant crops of olives, almonds, grapes, raisins, figs and, above all, its famous wine, Vino de Cómpeta, which is renowned worldwide. Competa, dating back to the Moors, and whose style is reflected in its winding streets and whitewashed houses, has many excellent restaurants and bars and the local inhabitants are content to sit in the central square, drink coffee and wish the stranger, Buenos dias!
