This cottage is tucked away within a large 500 acre country estate called Carreglwyd. Originally the gardener’s cottage, this residence has evolved to offer airy and bright cottage within peaceful surroundings, with a great view of the Victorian walled kitchen garden. This is a cosy and warm retreat for two. There are great woodland walks within the mature woodlands on offer within the Estate and a lake for coarse fishing (with prior consent via the owner). Please note that the country estate does offer grouse and pheasant shooting so in the season, this may be noisy. Just 20 minutes walk over on over the estate land is Borthwen Beach so that you can combine the quietness of the trees with the lull of the sea. Internally, the stairs are crafted from local wood and the kitchen is rustic with slate work tops and heated via a Rayburn range.The property has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Upstairs is a large airy studio living area with open fire and views of the walled garden.

This is a perfect place to enjoy the plentiful and accessible coastline, with its accompanying walks and dramatic views. You can enjoy a walk on the coastal path to Church Bay and stop for lunch at the Wavecrest café or infamous Lobster Pot restaurant.The area has a wide appeal for those that love the freedom of the sandy, secluded beach, but also like the tranquillity of the woods. Taste wine at the local Anglesey winery or visit the local art galleries, museums and castles.Down the road at Holyhead, take the ferry across to Dublin to sample the excellent seafood and have a great day out shopping. Or just pop to the local shop in the village the top of Carreglwyd’s sweeping driveway.Gamekeeper’s is conveniently located to head of to explore the beauty of the Isle of Anglesey, with the majestic Snowdonia mountain range only a thirty minute drive away.

Notes: The heating is by Rayburn in winter months and by mobile heaters and immersion is summer months. Electricity is included and linen and towels. There is DVD/TV and games. There is a garden area with BBQ and 2 chairs and a table. There is parking area with room for one to two cars. The beach is 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive. There is a day bed in the studio living area which can be used for additional guests and a fold up beds can be made available along with high chair and travel cot. We offer services such as grocery deliveries, home-cooked meals, baby sitting, pamper evenings, and can arrange horse riding, Go-karting etc. As the cottage is part of Carreglwyd, a large country estate, guests can enjoy the woodland walks and may fish the lake (with permission from the owner – there is a small charge) The accommodation sleeps 2. Any additional guests will be charged 10% of the full holiday price. Dogs are particularly welcome.
