Golf courses within a 15 minute drive from the villa are: Novo Sancti Petri, La Loma de Sancti Petri, Melia, Campano.
Golf courses within a 40 minute drive of the villa are: Royal sherry, Montecastillo (both Jerez) Montemedio (Vejer) and Benalup.
Excellent long horse rides can be arranged with a company in Barbate. Both beach and forest riding available for experienced riders.
Airport transfers can be arranged from Jerez, Gibraltar, Malaga and Seville. Please request information.
Rental bikes are available on request. There are many specified cycle lanes in and around Chiclana and cycling in the area is becoming more popular. This area offers both on and off road cycling and caters for all levels from families looking for fun, relaxing rides to more serious mountain cyclists. Those looking for more of a cycling holiday may be interested in the Via Verde route at Olvera which is some 36 kms of disused railway track especially developed for cyclists and walkers.
WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA:
Spain loves its fiestas and festivals. Cadiz has a famous, colourful carnival and is just one of the many festivals around the region almost throughout all of February. Don't miss the massively popular Horse Fair in Jerez during the first week in May. The summer months see an array of ferias, carnivals and parties. Chiclana holds it´s own ´Feria´in the month of June and is an occasion to be enjoyed by all the family. The Blue Flag awarded beach at La Barossa is host to all kinds of beach front entertainment in the balmy, summer evenings. There is something for everyone from puppet shows and live groups to displays of flamenco dancing and spanish singers. Check the Spanish tourist website for further details. Take the opportunity to cross the straits of Gibralter over to Tangiers for a taste of Morocco. The nearest port from Chiclana is Tarifa, around 40 minutes drive. On the fast ferry you can be in Morocco within 35 minutes.
DON'T FORGET THE BEAUTIFUL SPANISH COUNTRYSIDE:
Andalucia is home to 21 natural parks. Along the coast and in the surrounding countryside, we have a spectacular and extraordinarily diverse terrain. There are many beautiful walks where you will encounter numerous villages and places to stop, relax and eat whilst out and about. If visiting in the low season, these walks are ideal as the temperatures are a lot kinder on the keen rambler. Bird watchers will be treated to seeing a wide variety of different species as this area is on one of the most widely used migratory routes. All sorts of migrating birds stop here to rest and feed. Flamingos can be seen in large flocks and we are also proud to be part of the protection scheme helping increase the numbers of White Storks. These large, graceful birds return to the Chiclana area to nest twice a year and can be seen balancing precariously in their nests on posts and in trees. This really is a sight not to be missed.
