The house is situated in the heart of the village, just behind the historic church. Daglan is in the Céou valley 1 hour drive from Bergerac airport. The gite has 3 bedrooms, two upstairs, one with a double bed, the other with two single beds and a double downstairs. Separate dining room, bathroom, separate toilet, fitted kitchen and lounge. Ample parking, large enclosed safe garden with an 8 x 4 metre swimming pool with roman steps. Ideal for a tranquil French vacation. This French cottage is in a beautiful village location, restaurants and shops in walking distance. Well equipped with Hi Fi, fridge freezer, dishwasher, gas hob, electric cooker and washing machine, microwave, TV/DVD, patio furniture, BBQ and verandah plus Cot and highchair.

It is the River Dordogne, to the south, which lends its name to this French department. Rising in the Massif Central to the east, its waters have swollen by middle age, enabling it to cut through the landscape, looping and twisting past rocky outcrops where bastide villages cluster for defence. Clinging to their cliffs, Domme, la Roque Gageac, Beynac-et-Cazenac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle occupy idyllic settings. Down river, the pretty market town of Bergerac is famous for its tobacco and sweet white wine. The jewel in the crown is Sarlat, which lies at the heart of the Dordogne valley although not on the river itself. This well-preserved town, with its golden stone buildings, twisting lanes and great food market owes its prosperity down the years dates from its loyalty to the French Crown during the Hundred Years WarThe Dordogne's most precious treasure, however, lies hidden from view in prehistoric caves along the Vezere valley,most famously Lascaux.

  • Bedroom 1 is down stairs, opposite the bathroom and toilet - No stairs ideal for elderly. lovely view of the garden and gets the morning sun! Bedrooms 2 & 3 are large, light and airy. Lovely views of the garden and village. Bedroom 4 - We have a sofa bed in the room. This room is positioned between bedroom 2 & 3 we use this room as a family room. Great for the kids for some peace and quiet!

Notes: The gite has ample off road parking for three cars, if needed. The gite offers added secuity, once through the gate you can have extra peace of mind, ideal to allow the children freedom to enjoy playing outside. The pool is also seperated by a fence and a lockable gate. This again gives some extra peace of mind with regard to safety. Even when gaden gate is closed there is a shady grass area, ideal for small children to play or for out door dining! Location is excellent as in easy stroll to the local shops.
